Hi

It won't hurt to balance them as well; you will need to have a balancing circuit fitted to your battery and the balancer from Flightpower ( see below)

FP-Balancer : FPEX2 2s - 5s Cell Balancer unit

The revolutionary automatic plug and play charge-safety, cell matching and pack balancing unit for 3s to 5s FPEX2 (FlightPower Extreme 2 carbon) 5000mAh packs.

Re: li-ion batterys

I have a similar question. I am new and purchased a Shogun V2 with some 1600 mah battery packs. The pack have a charge lead that has 4 pins. Is this to "balance" the charge? Where can I get that connection? Or, can I simply charge from the lead that is identified as going to the motor?

Re: li-ion batterys

Keith,

You can charge the batterys using the two main conectors that normaly goto the motor.

The 4 way socket is for ballancing the pack as using this allows connection to each cell indervidualy, though I am not shure of the precise wiring.

Hope this helps.

Tim
