Red face 1st heli questions...

I am looking to get my first heli and I have been silently surfing for ages. (Four years to be more precise.) I am wanting to get something small enough to entertain the children in the house since my daughter can't go outside much. So my wish is to get the Walkera 4#3B but a lot of people tell me to go Coax. I think the comperably sized Walkera 5G6 looks like trash with that ugly T/R boom and the 5G6-1 looks much better considering the newer tail boom, but still is just O.K. So I look at the 5#10 since it seems only slightly larger and has an actual functioning T/R instead of a decorative one.

I already have places lined up that make the training pieces for the skids in the walkera micro sizes and I have talked to people on other threads that tell me to adjust the positive pitch to 3 or 4 degrees for the purposes of learning the controls. I have to tell you that I am a straight learner and to learn on a coaxial heli and then switch to fixed pitch worries me since my auto responses will have to be adjusted if things go wrong. My quest here boils down to do I have to completely readjust my training or just add some new moves to my piloting skillsgoing from coax to fixed.

I have been looking for something for a while now and Walkera's are the only ones in my budget range that I can find. (Actually I don't even have a budget, let's just admit they are actually cheap enough that skimming off of our monthly paychecks for the next few months would allow me to purchase one... )

So I would appreciate some feedback from people who have any of these and would really like to know if there are any other more afforable options.
