22#E motor problem

Main motor will not turn when throttle is moved. the tail motor will spin. There is power to the motor when throttle is actuated.
Tested the motor, motor spins when power is applied to input terminals.
My other question is what is the the purpose of the solid state part which is across the motor input connection?

You probably burned up the main motor ESC in the receiver. The stuff on the end of the motor is a diode and 2 caps, from what I've been told they keep the motor from charging the battery during spool down.

I have the exact same problem, what should I do to fix it?

When i spin up i hear a whine noise, tail spins but thats all, nothing else.

Make sure your motor will spin by hooking a battery directly to it. If the motor works then you need to buy a new receiver or a separate ESC for the main motor.

How do I put the battery straight to the motor? I have a li-po battery..

Lipo is cool. You need to make a JST to battery adapter or take 2 jumpers from the heli end of battery to the motor. Make sure you have the polarity right, the motor is out of the heli and secured so it won't flop around and be damn sure your jumpers from the lipo don't ever meet each other......remember Ghostbusters?

Ok now i have another problem! it seems all I am having with the 22E is problems and the problems to fun ratio is highly in the problems area! HAH!

So heres the new problem,
I slowly spin up get to just under 50% throttle, this is usally the area it takes off, and wha bang! we have lift of, so i'm keeping the tail about 3 ft in the air, and then, something happens, it loses power to main motor and tail flucuates, and then carrys on, in the mean time I am haveing a heart attack trying to keep it steady without crashing.

So I have changed battereys and the same thing happens. I hold the landing gear, power up to 50% and it still seems to lose power.. regain it, its like there is interference.

So i power down, and hold on to it, and then the servos have a little twitch..

Dasbeermiester, it looks like its just you and me but i appreciate the help, its been great! Maybe oneday I could have the answers to a new pilot

The only real way I've found to get rid of the walkera glitches is to get new radio gear. Not a easy option on the 22 because of the motor driven tail. Here's a small bit of good news......the new 2.4 Ghz 22E what little I've read is all good and no glitches. I'll get one when I can and use the old one as spare parts.
