Re: Is everyone hibernating?

Well...I have been flying a lot

My end of the planet is heading towards winter now, the days are getting shorter and shorter. I dread the winter too....not much flying gets done at all.

So from here on its a case of clocking up the hours as much as I can.

Re: Is everyone hibernating?

Hello again,
I've still only managed one brief flight since I started this thread and then only to find out that I had a bad pitch servo. I replaced it and have been waiting for the wind to die down for a couple of weeks. I am seriously thinking of taking it to the factory I work at and flying indoors when nobody else is there.
There really isn't that much room there either. LOL

Re: Is everyone hibernating?

Busted my Predator the other day, was flying about doing figure eights and a servo wheel came off...poor heli did some wild 3D tye rolls and came down...I didnt hear a crunch though...I sighed...and walked over slowly thinking '4t5th21rbt2qb5 56!!!!!!!!!!!!' and found her...sitting right way up but with smashed blades and smashed skids etc...but otherwise OK...I just cant believe I was that lucky should have been dashed to bits...looks like the blades took the impact...the boom is slightly bent and the canopy needs some TLC.

Just ordering the parts now

But yeah...I would have given this up if she had been a total wreck....Seriously....I know the risks etc etc...but at the cost of one of these birds...still, its my own stupid fault for not making sure the wheel was secure enough.

Re: Is everyone hibernating?

That's too bad Rob,
Can't say enough about those preflight checks! Seems like my problems are always electrical. Figures since I'm an electrican.LOL
Just completed my first hover test with the Comet. I really need a good gyro! Guess it's Gy401 time. I've tried a couple of cheaper ones and there just not worth the trouble.
Hope you get your Heli flying without too much trouble,
Neil

Re: Is everyone hibernating?

I was darn lucky, the heli should have been a total wreck, I was pretty angry with myself for not looking a bit closer...I normally land after 10 mins...and check the battery and fuel level and just make sure nothing is about to fall off....will be checking closer next time.

The pain is waiting for the parts to get sent down....I really have to contact Century and and order direct....they can be a pain to deal with though...no customer service at all...what there is is lacking...unless things have changed drastically.
