Walkera gyro with good digital servo

Hi,
Has anyone tried any one of the Walkera gyros with a good digital servo like the Futaba 9257 or 9650?

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

If anyone is out there, I have purchased a Futaba 9257 high speed servo to try with my G007.
I will post the results.

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

OK,
I have tried the Futaba 9257 servo with my G007 and it is fantastic! What a difference!
The tail is rock solid and I was able to turn up the gain to 62 from 35 percent with no wag. I would definatly get one of these servos before changing gyros from now on.

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

Hi there, I went the other way and am using a GY401 with an S148 servo. I had to as the original servo got damaged in a crash, I would be grounded otherwise.

The S148 does work ok, though there are times that you see it struggle to hold the tail still. I have ordered a replacement digital servo...not as high end as the 9254 but if the S148 does the job ok...then why not. I dont do full on stunt flying as such.

I am going to get my Sceadu Evo 30 into the air soon...I bought it when I started out in RC helis quite a while back...never ever got around to flying it.

I have been thinking a lot about the route I want to take. I have a Trex 450 XL HDE...its a good heli but needs a new radio system...2,4 ghz to get rid of the glitches...I crashed it a while back and am just sick and tired of glitches. So I am going to order a load of nitro fuel and am going to stick with that for my 'small' heli operations...I will keep flying the Predator gasser of course but I just want a small 30 size heli for messing about.

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

Hawkman, Hello,
I am still working on the Cobra and am trying to get a nitro in the air because I'm tired of being grounded by the wind! My electrics are all flying well but not often. The nearly ten pound Cobra should fly in anything less than a hurricane! I just need to sort out the electronics and then break it in and fine tune it and it's ready to go. I also have the Whisper flying in a limited fashion but it needs the battery holder modified.
I need to go to work on them but I am too tired from work so it will get put off again!
Later,
Huey

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

Hiya, You will like the Cobra....have you flown nitro before?

I like the Rex a lot, and I might still keep it. I just got fed up with the glitch problem.

With the Cobra, make sure you fit a training hoop to the skids. I still use one on the Predator if I am doing a test flight....like if I have a suspect gyro. I also use it while doing any flying that calls for something I am not used to. Yesterday I was doing 'nose in' hovering and landing...its just the hoop saves the heli from tipping if I do a wrong move...the field is mostly pretty good but all it takes is one bump and I have a broken heli.

So do fit that hoop

I was looking though spare parts for the Hirobo Sceadu, they are not that expensive at all. I was quite suprised.

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

That is the problem with the Cobra. It uses mostly Hirobo parts but it is old enough to be out of production. So I will be very carefull and will use training grear until it is set up. I use training gear when ever I make changes to any heli because you never know what might happen.

Re: Walkera gyro with good digital gyro

Thought I'd update the thread. I've tried the Futaba 9257 digital servo with the Walkera G007 and it is the full equal of the Telebee and the Xmseller gyros.
A good servo will make any gyro good at least.
