Cant keep the tail under control

I can seem to get the tail to calm down. I have a walkera 36 with a JGF 350. At full throttle no pitch I can control the tail for a while with the ability to move left and right, but if I lose control and the tail makes a full circle then I can never catch back up and get control of it again, unless I stop and start over again.
The gyro is working, because I can pick it up and move the tail left and right and get the gyro to move the tail blades. I have set the gyro as high as I can with out the wagging problem which on the walkera gyro is about 3/4 of the way. I also have an esky gyro but I cant get it to power the rear servo, i think it is faulty. So do you think this is a gyro problem or is it something else.

1. What is a good heading hold gyro

2. I have heard alot about a dip switch in the back. Is there something there that could be causing this. I can use the knob on the left to change pitch is that what the knob does.

any help would be great

thanks
nathan

Re: Cant keep the tail under control

It may be that your not getting enough head speed to keep the tail rpm up where it should be. I'm not sure the JGF 350 is enough motor for the 36. That motor is really designed for a smaller heli than the 36. I run the JGF 400 DH on both my 36 and 35 with an 11 tooth pinion with extremely good results.

Re: Cant keep the tail under control

i am sorry that is what I meant, I have a 400 JGF and i forgot to mention that I have added one tooth to the motor pinion. Do i need to put that tooth back in order to get more head speed. It has way enough power to fly but I can't keep the tail steady. Once it starts spinning I can get it to come back.

What Walkera gyro are you using? I starting to think you may have it set up in AVS mode. Make sure its set for Head Hold. The gyro also has a Reverse - Norm setting on it. If your already in HH mode try switching this setting and let us know what happens.

Re: Cant keep the tail under control

I still have the walkera gyro. I am thinking of getting a telebee heading hold. But I also have the junk walkera servo's, RX and TX. But even still It should be able to catch the tail up. I was wondering about a speed governer would that help me out. It doesnt sound like I have the same RPM all the time. I dont think I want that to change. I think ( but I am new to this) that at 0 pitch and 1/2 throttle (full rpm) is where it should stay. Just a guess

I will try that switch tonight and let you know what happens

thanks

Re: Cant keep the tail under control

ive got a telebee hh gyro with my trex and found it hard to set it up it seemed to creep no matter wot i tried to do so i got a gy401 now which was a massive difference gy240 might be a better choice for ur hely than the telebee

also check that ur belt isnt loose that happened to my df60 it took me a while to realise

and check the reverse switch on the gyro try switching it see if that makes a differance
good luck
