I was a huge bundle of nerves before I ever got off the ground. And an absolute wreck after. The biggest problem I had was coming out of forward flight into a stable hover to land it. Fortunately Darryl had me on a buddy box witch gave me a little bit of reassurance. He didn't have to jump in to save me but there were a couple times I was tempted to tell him to take it. Other than that it was the most locked in stable feeling I've ever experienced. I think that was my problem. You give input and it reacts so well to your stick movements it becomes pretty easy to over control it.

Hey guys
When do we get to see some pictures of your 37's. I've never really seen much on them. I'd like to have a look at what makes them different from the 36 and 60.

Hey gentlemen!

I have been practicing, ie. crashing, on my g3.5 sim. I am flying the axe Cp as it is the only cp equal sized heli I can find on the simulator. Does this heli compare in size and flight characteristics to a Walkera 37 or is it completely different having the tail motor? Also, is there a model on there that better replicates the movements of the 37? Or, can you upload a 37 or simular model from the internet? Thanks!

The cp is a smaller Heli and I think that they are Quite hard to fly as they are put up for sale almost as fast as they are bought. If you can't find a bigger model on the sim make sure that you disable the wind options or it will be almost impossible to fly. I don't know of a download for the 37 but the Trex is very simillar and there is bound to be a sim model for it.
That being said, any type of practice will help tremendously. Even flying airplanes on the sim helped me.

I was ready to sell the Axe CP from the sim now that you mention it! I couldn't keep it in one spot, or fly to my right.....didn't realize I could turn the "Wind" option off! That totally makes sense now! Thanks BH!!!!! The Axe truly isn't made for any outdoor flying! I thought a TREX 450 might be a closer simulation! The practice is definately helping me adjust to so many inputs! Thanks for the tip!

Re: 2 Quick Qustions for the 37?

Hey guys, I had another quick question or two. The main blades on the heli right now are white plastic desing with 3 square spaces in each, hollow I believe they call them. However, the previous owner actually put a light strip of clear packing tape over the holes I assume to help with lift? Are these blades any good? and What would be a good and affordable set of flat non'3D blades or starter blades to purchase? Aslo, I gues need a pitch gauge, what should the pitch be set to? Thanks fellas!

Micah

Re: 2 Quick Qustions for the 37?

I would say trash those blades and get some others. I'm not really sure what size blades the 37 takes. BH will be able to tell us witch size work the best. Just be careful about buying the real cheep ones. They can be pain to balance and even harder to get to track properly.
For your pitch setup you want to see something like -5 to +12 or something like that to get started with. Most importantly you should get around 0 to +3 at mid stick and no less than a + 10 at full throttle. So much is going to depend on what kind of performance you get out of your motor. You just have to get in the air to find the right head speed for your own comfort zone wile learning.
