Hi ronsr
Welcome to the forum. It sounds like the servo my not have been centered before you installed the horn and linkage. Try removing the servo horn and then power up the heli. This should center the servo. Make sure that the rudder trim on you TX is also centered. Now reinstall the horn. This should take care of the problem if the new servo is working properly.

Re: walkera 60

i tried this but did not work ,even if i do not turn on the reciever at all, and just plug in the helicopter itself, for some reason the servo will go all the way around until it can't go any more, thats when i un plug it so as not to burn it up, would a bad controller cause this?

Re: walkera 60

Hey Ron
You should always turn on your radio first then plug the battery in on the heli. I need to ask you a couple of questions to get a better idea of what has happened.
You say all you did was replace a bad servo. When you did this did you unplug only the bad servo wire from the gyro or did you disconnect the gyro from the RX as well? I just want to make sure that all the leads are plugged in to the right channels. Second thing is was your gyro initializing before the servo went south on you?
I have a feeling that it may be a problem with your receiver. But I would like to check out some other things before we make that call.
The next thing to try will be to plug the new servo in to a channel that you know is working to test it before we go any further

Re: walkera 60

thank you for trying to help!!! this is a new walkera 60 brushless set up and as soon as i turned on the reciever the tail went all the way over as far as it would go and burned up the servo so i called the people that i brought it from and they sent me a new servo ,all i have done is remove the bad servo, the servo that i'm trying to replace is a 7.6g high speed the other ones are reg, i do not know if that makes a difference but i did try pluging the sevro into one of the ones that i know worked but it did the same thing ,that is the servo will go all the way around untill it can't go any more and thats when i unpung it as not to burn it up also, i think that i'm very mechanical but not that good at electrical stuff. i have two eagle 50 and a walkera 76c but this is new to me.

Re: walkera 60

WOW it sounds like you my have received two bad servos for the tail. I had a new HiTec servo do that to me once right out of the box. But two in a row is pretty uncommon. But Walkera is known for its poor quality electronics. Unfortunately I think you may have to try and get them to replace it again. The best thing would be to upgrade to a better quality servo. But this should never have happened with a new out of the box heli.

I hope you have noticed that Walkera 60 default tail servo has very bad electric wires and servo is too tight to it's place thus wires will short-circuit during servo install or after some minutes of fly time. Grinding more space for servo wires might be good start.

I think Walkera is ok heli compared to price (if bought low price from hk), but it's not RTF as you really need to take it to back to parts and recheck everything as you are not so lucky that it will work straight from factory more than 30min. During first 30min test time I lost motor ( due motor build error ) and tail servo ( due bad quality and design ).
