| Just bought Walkera 37 as 1st Heli? Hello all! I am new to this forum and Heli's. I have been extremely active in nitro and electic buggies, truggies and now rock crawlers but wanted to get nto heli's for the longest time. So..... I bought RealFlight G3.5 and now purchases a Walkera 37. It has an entirely cnc head, blades grips, tail belt assembly and such. I need to put a new motor and esc in it though. What brushless set up would you suggest? The Align 430 or Walkera 180 seem to be the popular choices. 2nd, what is an affordable 6 or 7 channel radio that would really improve my experience as well? I understand that Walkera really lacks on electronics. I had a Blade Cp from eflite but never fired it up as everyone said it was extremely squirlly and challanging to fly? Will the 37 be more stable or is this the learning curve I have to climb regardless? I have so many startup and set up questions, so ANY type of feed back on this heli will be appreciated. Thanks for now, I'm sure I'll be on here quite a bit! Thanks so much! Micah |

| Re: Just bought Walkera 37 as 1st Heli? That really helps, thanks! I appreciate the link. What is the overall opinion of the 37? Is it easier or more stable than the Eflite Blade CP? That's the one I sold after buying and never attempting to fly. Again, any additional comments, upgrades or suggestions would be totally appreciated! Thanks again to Chris for the Walkera link! | Re: Just bought Walkera 37 as 1st Heli? Radio? I would seriously consider the 2.4ghz stuff thats out...you might have seen it before with rc cars? its new in rc flying circles anyway. Electric helis can suffer problems with the other systems. I use FM at the moment but as soon as my type of radio is released in the UK in 2.4 ghz I will buy one. Good idea to upgrade the motor, seems like the mechanics are ok otherwise...I dont have direct experience with Walkera stuff as such...but do know that a decent radio/motor/ESC/gyro system can make a huge difference. I would get a more serious charger too...though I would be careful of anything thats 'adjustable' in charge rates...people have lost vehicles and houses with using these things without reading the instructions carefully...a point well worth considering. | Re: Just bought Walkera 37 as 1st Heli? yes i agree with hawkman i would get better motor/esc and servos but most importantly i would get a better tx and rx first because the tx that comes with the hely isnt that good and wont help with your progress ive got a dx7 ive only flew my trex with it at the moment but once my df60 is fixed ill be flying both of my helys with this tx good thing about futuba, jr and spectrum tx's youve got more options and a lcd screen so you can see throttle/pitch curves that you are putting in rather than trying to picture them in you mind when trying to set up the walkera tx also you get subtrim which is a great help when trying to center you servos, smoother sticks etc etc from wot baby huey has said about the 37 is its a stable hely pm baby huey and he would be able to help you with the df37 because he has a few of them good luck ![]()

| Re: Just bought Walkera 37 as 1st Heli? Awesome, thanks Carl! I actually was bidding on a 6EX tx but now am looking to buy a DX6 2.4. You guys make a lot of sense. This is my 1st real heli so it'll be an experience. I'll try to see if I can find babyhuey and see if he'll shed some light and wisdom on me in this adventure. Keep 'em coming, set up tips, radio tips, whatever I truly appreciate the help! Thanks! |

| hello how is your venture going with the 37? a few tips for you ![]() if u can afford it try and buy a few spare parts just incase any little mishaps happen! bits like fly bar cos their easy to bend, main shaft, main gear, belt, blades etc etc obviously you cant buy everythink otherwise youu would have enough parts for another hely ![]() another star item to get is a pitch gauge as soon as poss this helps to set your pitch up when your setting up your hely, ive put a link to a video on pitch set up. the rotor head might be different but the principles are the same and heres a link to hely addict there loads of helpful videos on their from finless bob most of the videos are for trex but most of them you can use you will have to register before you can down loadany videos http://www.moretraction.com/helis/setup%20videos.htm http://www.helifreak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=60 hope this helps ![]()
