Want To Buy a Phoenix Simulator

Well the title pretty well says it all...

Would like one of the latest versions,...But I should be able to update anything Phoenix,...I guess..??

I'll be using a JR transmitter and the appropriate dongle would be a plus

But I can't make use of a unit that has any scratches, nicks, soda or other blemishes on the info side of the disc,..Of course..

Thanks in advance to all who may reply,......................Dave..

Re: Want To Buy a Phoenix Simulator

I have one of the earlier versions and its a good sim, the later one is also good but lacks one or two things as well. But thats my own opinion.

Another sim worth looking at is Reflex XTR, pretty darn good sim as well and has lots of updates too.

I dont mean to confuse your choice, either sim is good...as you get to use 'real' switches which will do real things thus getting you well versed with the radio you have.

My advice for the radio? set up a model memory which is for the simulator alone....make you sure to label it too.

Re: Want To Buy a Phoenix Simulator

Thanks very much for the reply,...Rob Do you suppose that the version you have is totally up-gradeable to current standards..?? What are the "Couple things" that you were alluding to..?? Does the version that you have, Have a version number..?? or a date of issue..??

And last of all,.. what are you wanting for your Phoenix..??

Re: Want To Buy a Phoenix Simulator

Hi there, I dont want to sell my sim

You can buy the new one from several places online I would have thought.

The couple of things are:

the latest version has settings for things like servo, engine and tail failure...good idea as it gets you in the frame of mind to deal with such a reality...as these things can and do happen...so always check your real heli over carefully...and always land and check it out if it dont sound right or isnt flying too well.

What I dont like about the later version is the 'competition' thing...with the autorotation feature...theres this countdown before the heli is doing its auto...I like the older version where the heli just gets launched at you...so you get to do the practice...its quite intense...but of great value...because reality will see a smashed model if you dither and get it wrong.

Both versions are good in that the 'competition' has a balloon busting game...where you fly around busting the balloons...for a score....this will bring your flying skills on very quickly...if you set the fuel limit to say...3 mins...you fly about trying to bust those balloons and then you get an engine failure...so you have to land and try to land well without breaking the model....again this is of tremendous value.

A good sim will pay for itself in a very short time.

The version I have is 1.3 or something...the later one is 1.4...I think.

Re: Want To Buy a Phoenix Simulator

I do apologise, the Later version is 1.04 not 1.4 like I said...and the autorotation feature is the same as the earlier version...you can do autos for competition...where there is a countdown...or you can do them as part of learning...where you can sit there for ages just practicing this skill.

Phoenix is a good sim, I dont think you will need many upgrades either...if you get the latest version you get more models...like the Trex SE amongst others.

Try the UK market if you dont have much luck in the USA.
