Hello Guys;

That chopper and engine go together well and you cant beat the 401 and 9254 for the cost. The radio is just your choice, as the 6 channels are all pretty close. If you can change your budget Id go ahead and get the 50 size as you will move up in the future.

yes the raptor 30 is fine and as the one above says go for a 50 size if money is there for it. same as the servos i had cheeper servos to start but had it get better ones later. the problem was i had to crash first to find out they were not good enough, so i would get the futabs 9255's first and then get a 50 size. always improve your servos first before getting more power because the old servos will let you down and thats will cost alot more in damage prices that getting quality ones in the first place. hope you see what i mean. good luck with your raptor, I love mine and even when i move on to a lighter faster model will always keep my raptor.

Re: My new Raptor 30

I'm makeing the same electic to nitro move that you are.

Only difference in my proposed setup is that I'm going with the Spektrum DX7 and servos that come with the kit.

I'm giong with the 30. AS I understand it, the 50 is an easy upgrade path. New motor, longer rotor blades and tail boom. The 50 is a much more powerful powertrain, and as a friend said, "Flys with urgency" as compaired to the 30. My thought is to go with 30 to start, then when I wear out the 30, to just upgrade to the .50 and new parts.

Cool Re: My new Raptor 30

Well that the way I went about ten months ago. I am now throwing round at raptor 90 and having more fun flying than I have had for along time. If you can hover well what ever you are fying now you could gor to a 50 right off but a 30 is the best to start with and then move on to the 50. then move on to "V" curve set up then stay with the 50 or if you like them big and fast go 90. like me.

Re: My new Raptor 30

i"m sure i'll get to the .90 stage, but, for me, for learning, I'll start with .30 and work up.

Re: My new Raptor 30

I you will but you are doing the right thing by starting with the 30 good luck, stat buying parts for the 30 now cus as you get better you will crash, so get some spares like booms tail blades mains shafts and spindles. they will come in handy sooner than you think
