Advice on changing from electric to nitro?

Hi Guys, first time I have ventured into this part of the forum, I have been learning to fly electric helis for nine or so months, I started with fixed pitch & then went on to a bigger, 3D capable CP, I have crashed many many times & rebuilt over & over, my heli is now flying the best it ever has, it is a complete hybrid. I am just fairly fed-up with the limitations on battery flying time, no sooner do I start to practice a new manouver then the battery dies, the last battery I bought was a flight-power which cost £50.00, & they don't seem to last very long. I dont really want to get into 3D flying, I just want to be able to have fun flying "normally", eventually I would like to build scale models.
I have a hitec optic 6 radio, & would like to know if I could use this on a raptor, what size? (I dont really understand the 30, 50, 60, 90 buisiness), what engine? How much for a kit? What else will I need to buy, starter, glow-plug stuff etc?
I have almost convinced myself to go down this path, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Re: Advice on changing from electric to nitro?

The optic 6 will work with any of the mentioned birds. It just doesn't have all the channels and extra bells and whistles of a more expensive radio. The 30,50,etc, are the engine size. the bigger the engine the bigger the bird. Try these raptor sites.

They should keep you busy.
