| drill start? Sorry if this is bit of a noob question. Can I start my helicopter with my makita cordless drill? It is a pretty expensive drill and if its capable than I don't want to spend the money on a starter. |

| Re: drill start? Yes you can, I use a 16 volt to start my 50 and 90. Make sure you don't break your crank, if its locked up because of too much fuel in cylinder.

| Re: drill start? I was wondering the same thing. Why would you not go out and buy a nice cordless drill for what they want for some of these starters? |

| Re: drill start? If you have the adjustable clutch setting on the drill then use it.. what you are after is the clutch to start slipping at any sign of a hydro lock so you will not damage the engine Roger |

| Re: drill start? I have used a drill since i started. it has to spin quite fast i found to do the job, and i set the torque setting low
