| Raptor 50 Swash Plates Is any body else seem to be wearing out swash plates at a alarming rate???  I got 16 odd hours out of the original and around 5 out of the Thunder Tiger replacement.

| Re: Raptor 50 Swash Plates This does seem to be quick wareing, What type of flying are you doing? Are you sure that the swash is not Binding up at all? What type of place is the heli flying in ....Dusty or sandy? I would be worried if mine wore out at this rate. unfortunatly excesive ware normally indicates that something is not quite as it should be. As I can not see your heli and your flying area or style then I can not be any more helpfull. Good luck with the hunt for an answer.

| Re: Raptor 50 Swash Plates Sorry for the delay i have been flat out.  No binding and only general flying about i clean the swash plate with brake clean and relube after every outing. Must of just got a dud one i have another new one i will fit that up and see what happens. Cheers

| Re: Raptor 50 Swash Plates DONT CLEAN IT WITH BRAKE ANYTHING!!!! swashplates are very precise paices of kit. the most that it should need is a wipe with tissue or soft cloth and a small drop of oil. I have gone months without oiling mine at all and it is still in good working order. really unless it is really dirty then minimal cleaning is needed and it should only ever need a small drop of oil. good luck with it.  Re: Raptor 50 Swash Plates I ended up dismantling the swash plate and and machining a couple of thou off the brass retaining collar and that took all the slop out.ive flown 29.6hrs on it now(13hrs on the rebuilt one) and no signs of wear. Must of got a friday arvo swash plate. Cheers
