Will paint that canopy for you!!!! hey fellas- allright genlteman, i am about to try out the skills that i have been honing for the past 2 yrs. i will offer to paint your canopy for free. i will charge you nothing for my time or skill. you only pay for shipping both ways- your choice on who and how- and i ask a modest fee for materials. please understand that this is by no means a business. i am just toying with the idea of starting up this service for profit. i began painting rc cars about two years ago for a friend of mine that was not having much luck. i used the standard pactra paints and a 2 part clear coat that a friend gave me(owns body shop). i was very impressed with my natural ability. i ended up painting over 50 lexan bodies and learned to fade color to color and can pinstripe, flame, letter, and pretty much anything else you can think of. not that these jobs are flawless- i am still in the learning stage-but, now that i purchased a complete setup of house of kolors paints and metallics along with 2 stage clear coats and all the bonding agents for the "plastics" that some heli canopies are made of- i think that i will see my skills step up close to that professional level. if you are interested, contact me via email and we can talk color scheme and layout. if i don't feel that i can do the job as requested i will let you know. believe me, i would rather tell you that i cant handle it than try and not live up to your expectations. i promise that the modest fee mentioned above is just that. i would love to give the materials away, but i am a college student and have to watch the old wallet. so, always wanted a red fade into black with yellow LOGO of your heli name or manufacturer? this is the time to get it. you get a low cost, good looking paint job with true automotive industry clear coat-(3 layers-SHINY!!!!)that is fuel proof above and beyond that 30% nitro. and i get some great experience and possibly some fellow helifever members that will tell other heli men that i can sling colors with the best of them. help me help you i will be doing this until the set of paints i ordered run out. i hope that there will be the first brave few to step forward and send me that plain white canopy. you can also send me canopy's that have vinyl that you would like stripped and replaced with paint. i would be more than happy to accomodate any requests that i feel are in my skill range. heck, i will even be willing to just do plain ole one color jobs. so, email me and find out what candy colors and metallic flakes that i have left in the inventory. i will promise this- if you are not happy with the job i do- send it back and i will send you a blank canopy(same as the one you sent me). just think, you may get an awesome paint job for the cost of paint- and you may help me get a new small business off the ground. sounds like a win-win for all involved. email me at grnkota@hotmail.com thanx for your time ryan gower

Hi Ryan, good to see you offering your services for free to paint people's canopy. Is there any "money back guarantee?" ) Anyway, my purpose of this post is just to inform everyone that I'm not against exchange of services, but I like to draw the line that I won't be allowing any post in here that attempts to profit by using helifever as a dessimination ground for their business. Helifever has been operating on my own pockets for the benefit of sharing information. The readership is about 2000 hits per day. I could have done something to rope in money for the site, but until the day when I have to close down the site, I won't be asking for money. Therefore, I do hope that everyone who uses this site, to share information, does so in the spirit that we are doing it for our interest in heli, and not for ... our interest. Thanks... and Ryan, if you got some sample PICs to show the users, I doubt anyone wants to ship their canopies .. yet. Cheers

tell me your thoughts!! let me know what you think of my offer, even if you are not interested in getting your canopy painted. i could use ALL feedback that you can share. example- would you participate if you had a blank canopy laying around? do you think that the offer is fair? did i leave any vital info out that you would have included? plz help me out here guys. you gotta respect a fella for trying to turn a passion into a payin gig- and you gotta love anybody who is trying to save you money- even if i do end up charging for my services(assuming that this test comes out well) they will be almost 50% less than most of the other custom paint services that i found online. help me out all you can

thanx admin i assure you and the members of this site- i will be losing money on every canopy i ship out- unless i paint 30 or so- then i should break even- don't think there is enough paint to cover 10 birds- let alone 30. yes, there is a money back garuntee. if you are truly unhappy with your canopy- send it back promptly and you will recieve a refund on the materials charge. i will also replace the canopy(same make and model you sent me to paint) with a new canopy (unpainted). this only means that you are out shp and handl charges. i think that is more than fair. this is me going out on a limb- so, i can only respect the opinion of the person that sent me the canopy to be painted. i am sure enough of my painting skills to do this at my own risk- and i know that someone will be willing to buy the (if any) returned painted canopies. pics will be available soon-- gotta find that driver for my scanner online or in my stack of cd's. need to get a digital camera badly. thanx admin

I might be interested in getting a canopy painted. Do you do tail fins too? What is your turnaround time? I just can't part with my heli for an extended period of time if you do tail fins too.
