| Newcomer Hello all, I am looking/thinking of getting into helicopters as my mate just got a petrol Raptor V2. However I am looking to get into this via electric for the time being for 2 major reasons 1.Cost 2.Boredom(Incase this is a fad and the wife woudl go mental) So any suggestions on a cheap electric helicopter sub £150 even from ebay or something, a 3d one I think thats what they call it with all the directions instead of just up/down/left/right. So there is it any sugestions so if it all goes well and enjoy it and not a fad i would then like to go for a nitro. Cheers |

| Re: Newcomer Hi £150 is not a lot but there is a heli that can do the forward backward up down left and right thing. It is capable of flying all day and you have no batteries to charge and recharge. It is called the hoverfly and I own one. I taught my son to fly with this heli, Although when not in use it looks weird, When it is spooled up it flys just like a gas heli without the 3D ability, Now the good news the cost for this heli used to be over £200. It is now a little over £100. Mine has taken no end of crashes and it is still flying, if you do break it then replacments are cheap and they are easy to replace. I really beleive that for the money you cant get better. Here's the link, http://www.snelflight.co.uk/ Have a look at this and see what you think, The heli's that you can buy for this money are not what I would recommend to be honest, The Hoverfly is a exellant paice of kit though, runs off mains and even comes with a controller of its own, flies like the gas ones, What more can you ask for for £120?

Cost $109.99 plus $15.00 shipping.I made a purchase online 4 days ago...but I have yet to receive the purchase or shipping confirmation or talk to the company. Has anyone else had a problem with the site??? Uncle l |

| Re: Newcomer if you want cheap but FP (not 3D) I hear the dragonfly 4 is pretty sturdy as well as a good learner. As (on ebay) it's usually 85 USD or above. but if you want to go 3D (which I suggest) get a heli with a belt driven tail. the only one that would fit your budget would be the dragonfly 36. I have one and it's a nice little bird but you just have to sure you have a 10C+ li-poly with it (try to go brushless as well). the next best is the blade cp, but it has a tail motor which only get 2 hours of flight time before needig to be replaced ($10). Those are the best heli's you can get with in your price range. (a pound is 2 usd right? )
