| HONEYBEE king 2 quick question hey guys first of all thanks for ANY help! now, got a honeybee king 2, plastic blades, carbon tail, cnc levers, thats about it. ok. now I know helis are crazy to learn to fly, but should I be starting with a head locking or at least NICER gyro than the stock silver pro thing that it comes with. I hear bad things about it, but im not sure if those are from freekin pros and im just tryin to get flying for an entire battery. so far i can lift off pretty easilly, hold my altitude well, i can go forward and allllmost turn back around, can fly sideways, almost backwards. but ive been messing with the dam tail spinning and sh** like that for maybe 5 batteries now. so if i went and bought a nice gyro would i pretty much be flying like nicely like as soon as its on?????? if so which gyro? josh dot leavell at goog. mail for any problems |

| Re: HONEYBEE king 2 quick question A good gyro will make the heli much easier to fly but the bad news is that they cost more than your heli! This is the quandry that I've faced ever since I got into the hobby. You can get the Futaba GY401 for around $140 new and you'll be happy with that gyro. The $50 gyros like the Telebee are better than the stock one but not by much so I'm not sure that they're really worth messing with. Hope this helps, Huey

| Re: HONEYBEE king 2 quick question Oh, I forgot to mention that you need a good tail servo to get the most out of your gyro. Some times the servo is more of the problem than the gyro. I have used the Walkera gyro with a digital Futaba servo and had pretty good results but the ultimate would be to have both.

| Re: HONEYBEE king 2 quick question Based on my experiance, Probably not. I started with a Walkera 36 RTF and flew it quite a bit but I crashed quite a bit also. What I began to notice was that I seemed to be crashing for no apparent reason. As I got more experiance It became clear why, I was suffering from glitches and shutdowns in my radio system and also burned out servos. This was caused by not having end point adjustments in the radio to perfect the setup with. As soon as I purchased a used Futaba Tx and a new micro Rx for my heli I stopped 99 percent of my problems and had a good flying heli that wouldn't stomp on my confidence as a pilot. So if you fly with the stock radio do everything you can to get a perfect mechanical setup on all servos. And when you crash don't automatically blame the pilot!

| Re: HONEYBEE king 2 quick question The trick is to take that radio manual....and treat it like the Bible read it with reverence and respect. The point is is that we tend to try making things work, and have a problem...its then that we reach for the manual which is usually totally unread until that point ![]() Sometimes though things arent that clear, I was puzzling over my Gyro for ages (GY401) and how it was set up with the radio...it worked ok but I could not get heading hold to work....it was a moment of frustration that I dialled the values and stumbled across what I needed to do...it was a positive/negative value of sorts on the Futaba T7CP. Strive for that perfect mechanical setup, once you get the idea its easy to do and you get a better flying heli as a result. Rob |
