exceed rc g2, Esky Honey Bee King 2, 2008 Model Esky Belt CP

Well title says it all can someone help me compare these, the honey bee is the cheapest which make sense for me since im a beginner but i dont want to do my mistake twice which is buying something cheap and dont like it and buy a bigger one in a month.

as much as i can see they all have belt driven tail, and 6ch besides that the esky cp and exceed rc has a lot more with battery brushless motor ...

i cant figure out the difference esky and exceed tho, and if its worth to get those since i see a lot of people getting honey bee.

open to any comments.

Belt CP is not bad, this is the belt cp hovering video

King 2 is the one I am flying, it is very good too. But you may need to change the motor to brushless like I did.

Im kinda stuck between belt cp and honey bee, the battery and the motor looks like a big upgrade between each other. but i do see "Auto-Rotation System, it can make the landing much safer" on honey bee, not sure if this is a good thing and its not on the belt cp. Any ideas,

Hi Drew,

Have you looked at the Blade 400 3d?

I havent heard much bad about it and I dont think its going to be much more expensive than what you are looking at. Dont forget the old saying.. You gets what you pays for and dont be pulled in by a "bargain" Before you spend a penny... check how much the spares cost and how available they are. Also check what upgrades can be had. My opinion is that for a machine the size you are looking at... belt drive tail, brushless motor and 3 cell lipo at least 1500 Mah are essential.

Dont be fooled into thinking that "auto-rotation system" will somehow automatically save your heli. It wont. All it does is to allow the blades to disengage from the motor if it stops in flight (a situation that you try to avoid at all costs). It still requires a lot of skill, quick reactions and a fair ammount of height (or not much at all) to get your bird down safe.

Good luck... Azzy

I agree. I hear much more positive stuff about the blade 400. So far, it'll be my next heli. I would like info on the Exceed RC G2 though. Cost sounds great but again, if it's like most others "you get what you pay for".

Re: exceed rc g2, Esky Honey Bee King 2, 2008 Model Esky Belt CP

Hello.

I just joined and this is my first post. I just got an Exceed G2 on eBay. This will be my first heli. I've flown planks for a few years.

This G2 looks brand new. Can't find a ding or a scratch anywhere. But am I glad I didn't try to fly it right out of the box.

The first thing I noticed is the flybar is loose. It moves along it's axis 1/8 inch in either direction. That can't be good. It's also loose rotationally.

The motor is so tight against the main gear that, when I turn the main gear, it wants to stop at each tooth; Like a wheel running over rocks.

It's so tail heavy that the battery wont balance it out. The battery tray is not long enough to set the battery far enough forward.

The blades are so far out of balance that the thing shakes violently at low to mid throttle. And it gets worse beyond that.

No way is this thing ready-to-fly out of the box. I'm so lucky to have read the forums for the past few months. The advice I have found out here concerning a thorough inspection of a new heli has saved my bacon.

I am going to check every screw in this thing and get it set up as best I can before I try to hover it for sure. I'll keep posting if any body is interrested in the G2.

Thanks for all the questions and tips and advice you fine people have. Keep it coming.
