| t-rex 500 help I am new to this site but i hope you people can help me out. i have never built a t-rex before. When i was building the head it said to lubricate it. i used the green liquid that came with it. is that ok? in the manual it says at the beginning that the green liquid is for the bearing, i put it on the feathering shaft. I just want some peoples input. and one more thing, i put one of the blade grip bearings in backwards, will that be ok or do i really need to switch it around? |

| Re: t-rex 500 help Hi, Welcome. Lubricating the feathering spindle wont do any harm to the spindle but depending on the lubricant used it might rot the rubber dampers. Unfortunately I dont know what the green liquid is made of so I cant say. Saying that though, with the ammount of centrifugal force involved in a spinning rotorhead, it wont be in there long so it shouldnt cause too many problems. If the bearings you are refering to are the thrust washers (2 grooved washers with a ball race in between with an "in" and an "out" stamped on the washers) then absolutely you need to switch it around as the blade grips will lock up when the heli is flying. If its the sealed bearings (3 in each blade grip 2 big ones and a small one) it doesnt matter what way round they go in however, the order of the bearings is very important eg small bearing, big bearing, big bearing, thrust washer. Hope this helps... Azzy

| Re: t-rex 500 help Um, the green liquid is a form of threadlocker that Align calls "bearing retainer". You're only supposed to use a tiny bit to secure the bearings into the bearing blocks. If you used it to lubricate your feathering shaft (spindle) you've possibly glued it into the head. Pull it apart and clean everything off. You might get lucky and it won't be too much of a mess
