| BEWARE when buying a all in helicoptor package from My Hobbies, London which advertises in RCM&E. I brought a shuttle plus which is a good helicoptor but i could not get the helicoptor set up and to behave its self when flying. I took it to a local shop to get it set up by some one with more experience. I was then told that the giro that was supplied was not good enough for an ic helicopter due to engine vibrations. The little GWS PG-03 gyro is more suited for an electric helicoptor. It cost me ?59 for a new gyro that was man enough for the job. I contacted My Hobbies and they just said that they would not exchange or refund for the gyro. I now will have to take legal action against a company that is only interested in our money and not our hobbie. BEWARE. Merry Christmas & happy New year to all. Andy. |

| Hi Andy, Firstly sorry to here that you had a gyro problem with your heli. I must say however that although you have been told buy the shop that your PG-03 was not adiquate for your heli, this is not entirly true. I have recently changed my gyro from a PG-03 that I have flown for some 2+1/2 yrs to a GY401 heading hold gyro. The little PG03 is suited to electric and small 30 class nitro heli's, The model shop you went to was wrong to say that it was not supposed to be in the heli. There could very easily have been a problem with the amount of vibration protection that it had, The setup could have been slightly out the gain could have been too high or even the servo could have been the cause of the problem. I would really suggest that you think hard on the threat of legal action. You can not win. the Gyro is a very good gyro and is more than capable of coping with a 30 size/class heli. I can even show you a picture of my heli with it fitted to it. I had many hours of flying fun with mine. I do simpathise with you but I must agree that the PG-03 is a good gyro for the beginner that can not afford a better gyro to start with. It is a standard gyro and not a heading hold. Purely to hold the tail from spinning out of control, it resets and does allow the tail to drift. The heli will weather vain, This is not a problem this is what the gyro does, as do others that cost a lot more. If you want a good Gyro then you have to pay. The GY401 Heading lock gyro is exellant. But you still need to spend ?100 + pounds on a servo to handle its response. My wife bought mine as a gift the combined cost was ?260. with postage. The PG-03 is an exellant starter gyro. Though there are things that it wont do. One is hold the heli rock steady, Unless in nill wind. Regards Darren Have a good 2005,
