Hi new to heli's Help.

Well I just purchased a Heli and I mean just purchased.

Well I decided to try a new hobby and said ooh. This sounds fun I use to like r/c cars.

I work on cars for a liveing and its easy to me.

So I just paid for this heli. It came with everything and it is used and already put together. Only reason I didn't buy a new one is cause I am new to this so will most likely end up crashing atleast once. I would probably break something putting it together if I purchased it new. Plus there not cheap from what I have seen. This one didn't cost me too much.

I think its old not sure what new to be honest so doesn't matter to me.

The Mechanics of this Heli are Kyosho Concept 30 DX. With a 32 size engine.

Guess that who made it and what model. Don't know what the 32 stands for guess the size of it.

CENTURY "LITTLE WOLF" R/C HELICOPTER

The Radio is an Airtronics RD6000

Controller

The Receiver is Airtronics 92777/72

Controller

The Servos are Airtronics 94102

Think this is what controls the airplane rudders stuff like that.

Main Rotor Span 45.6"

Hmmm guess thats for the blades.

Tank Capacity 7.5oz

What kind of fuel does it use? Where do I purchase it gas station?

Gear Ratio 9.76:4.6

No Idea what this do but there already on so guess it doesn't matter.

I don't know anybody around here who knows about heli's or flys heli's. So I might be flying this solo.

Also a few more questions.

Will I have to put oil in this thing?

What kind maintnance do they require?

He said he had it standing for a year. It looks clean and pretty. Haven't tried to start don't know how.

Is there any website with information on how to do pre flight check or maintnance and stuff like that?

Oooh this is what he told me is this true? Other than the re-glue of the tail as I mentioned in the ad it is "Ready To Fly". Its a little piece of the bottom tail fin thing it doesn't move from what I can tell.

Thanks for the info in advance.

P.S. Forgot to ask I been reading for awhile where do you get this heli flight simulator thing from?

Hi ? Twiddleie,

First of all welcome to this fantastic if somwhat frightening hobby, Frightening because at the start there is so much that you really need to learn before you even think of starting the heli, You need to learn as much information about setting it up checking that it is set up properly. Whilst doing this you will need to make sure that the Gyro is working correctly. The type of fuel you will need is methanol and nitro based it can have different amounts of nitro to allow different power adjustments for stunt flying and others.

I would recommend that you get some practice on a simulator first. There are many on the market and they will save you an absolute fortune in repairs, The basic equipment you will need for your heli to fly is,
1 power starter, this is 12V
1 receiver battery, 1 transmitter and battery.
1 gallon/half gallon of fuel with at least 10% nitro be sure it is heli fuel as it will have the right amount of oil mixed in it.
1 glow plug starter/Heater.
receiver and transmitter crystalls both on the same frequency.
battery charger that can charge both transmitter and receiver batteries.
12V battery for your power starter and a battery for your glow plug if you require one and a charger for these.

when you have these items you would be able to start your engine. However I would strongly advise that you hold off on this untill you have,
1, familierised yourself with your heli
2, learnt the basics of flight on a simulator
3, got a freind who Knows how to or a model shop to check your heli settup.
4, done as much as you can to make sure you are ready for this challenge.

I have a web page that will tell you breifly that I made a complete tit of myself when I first started. I did the same as you. bought second hand, READ IT.
It could help you save money.

Good luck and if you need any more info/advice please feel free to ask.

Darren
