Re: Main motor keeps burning

Sims? get something like Phoenix or Reflex XTR...both good sims. They have a range of models....the cheaper/freebie sims are ok to a degree but you need something decent to practice emergency stuff apart from flying.

Seriously though, if you insist on the 90 then at least join a club or get help.

I have known of at least one person who started off with a gasser...which is near enough 90 size...mine is 23cc so that would be 90 size....it can be done.

I started off with 30 size helis before getting my gasser, it was a huge step...quite a scary machine that commands respect......and I mean respect. Mine can do 70 mph and weighs in at 5.5 kgs...points to bear in mind.

WOW!
I didn't mean to get it in the too near future, but it's a dream I will like to fulfill some time in the future and not before I become good with the small ones.
Ken.
I heard of a heli killing someone. I know how careful I'll have to be.

The thing that I worry about with the big birds is what happens if you hit someone or something with one? I know that they are more stable because of their size but they are WAY more dangerous and expensive.
That said, the Belt CP will make a very nice machine once you get the problems upgraded. If the servos are replaced and a good gyro installed then all you need is a good radio system. This will make it nearly a Trex!
And I like the Raptor type head that comes on them.

Rob, I checked both sires and the Reflex XTR seems to be the better one, at least for me.
Thanks for the info.

I'll have to take out a heavy insurance then.
I've just ordered some of the replacement parts from ebay.
I ordered the main gear set and the upgrade kit.
I might be able to get a replacement for the linkage that broke here from someone who told me that he has a lot of small parts for my Heli. I already have spare blades on order, I should receive them any time now.
Delivery usually takes about 4 weeks.

When you say a "good' gyro, is there a particular brand you have in mind. Is the gyro that came with this machine reliable?
I'm also thinking of getting myself a "spectrum" radio sometime.

Re: Main motor keeps burning

By a good gyro I mean like a Futaba Gy401 but they cost as much as your Heli so if the one you have works well don't change it. If it doesn't then you can go a step up by getting a Telebee or one from xmseller.
As you progress in the sport you will want the adjustability and features of a computer radio. If you get a radio like the Spectrum you will be amazed by how much better they are than the stock one.

Re: Main motor keeps burning

BABY HUEY, is it possible to have one Spectrum radio to control my 2 Helis, or even 3? Rather than buying a Radio for each one?

Re: Main motor keeps burning

Yes, you can control up to ten different models depending on the model of radio. You just have to get a Rx for each.
I'm up to four in my Futaba. It's a regular 72 mhz so my Rxs are cheaper than the 2.4 Ghz ones like Spectrum's but if you fly around other R/Cers the 2.4 is better.
