Dual conversion

Hi all,

Can someone tell me what dual conversion is and what difference installing crystals with single conversion would make.

Thanks

Clive

Hi Clive,

What a good question this is, Not a lot of people even think about this little detail that has got lots to do with the receiver.

Anyway I beleive that the difference between the dual and the single conversion receiver is that the single conversion receiver only has 1 (lets call it pathway) for the signal to travel down. The dual conversion has 2 and therefore can process the signals quicker and send these to your servos with more reliable rates.

These become more important the more advanced you get into flying as your able to do more and as such transmit lots of differing signal inputs to your receiver. The dual conversion receiver is able to cope far more comfortably with this. The single conversion will cope but you may notice it become slow to react to signal inputs.

This is MHO and the way I have allways understood it. I could be wrong.

Hope this helps,
Darren.
