Re: Advice needed

1/4 Scale BiPlane eh? bet that goes some.

Well you wont be new to this in regard to radios and so on...I think helis are not so hard to fly....they are hard to flip upside down for a start....and you can learn to hover around and gradually get into it....planes though...once they are launched then you are committed to getting the thing to do a circuit and then land it again....more intense for the learner.

I have a stunt plane you might like....it a 'Kerfuffle' made from ply, foam and tape...its almost crash proof...its low wing and quite agile for what it is....its an ideal learner for a serious low wing plane such as a Spitfire. I really do enjoy a session of plane flying....its easier in many ways.

Its cool that your club welcomes you....some plane flyers are seriously against helis.

I fly my Trex 450 when the Guys are flying planes around....I do a 'crash copter' thing....ie race over to a 'downed' plane and circle it till the owner gets to it....sure brings a smile or two.

Re: Advice needed

Hawkman,
Have you ever seen a Zagi? It's an electric powered flying wing. It was initially designed to be a slope soarer. It like your Kerfuffle is made of epp foam and packing tape. My buddy and me have a hoot trying to hit each other's Zagi! They are virtually indestructable.
Has anyone seen on the other forum the latest postings on the Eflite Blade 400?
That heli is looking better & better! I think I'm going to get one as a transition to a 50 sized nitro burner.

Re: Advice needed

I know the Zagi, dont have one as such.

I like the Kerfuffle, was showing off the other evening and stalled...upside down and low to the ground...'crunch!!!!' broken prop and bruised ego that was all...would have trashed a normal plane.

I have a spare petrol engine off a strimmer...its 22cc so I am looking for an airframe for it...might contact Phoenix Models and see if the Guy there will make a one off airframe.
