Re: Greetings from Costa Rica

Thank you for your interest.

Well, that is a long story. Maybe if I share my bio with you, it may shed some light on why I am currently living in Costa Rica. By the way, your Spanish is good. Poco a poco es mucho al final.

Richard Blank is the Chief Executive Officer for Costa Rica’s Call Center, a division of Cheyenne Consultants, a company incorporated in Costa Rica. At the beginning of the decade, Mr. Blank relocated to Costa Rica to train over 500 employees for one of the larger call centers in Central America. By utilizing his motivational public speaking style backed by tactful and appropriate rhetoric, he has successfully prepared and managed some of the finest telemarketers in the country for the past seven years. In addition, Mr. Blank has earned the reputation of running a school for telemarketing and is often sought after for private training sessions and consultation. In anticipation of CAFTA, Mr. Blank became a strategic partner of the Pacific Rim Chamber of Commerce, Beverly Hills, California and Selway Global Communications, Tempe, Arizona to expand Costa Rica’s international telecommunications and business appeal. Mr. Blank holds a bachelors degree in Communication and Spanish from the University of Arizona and a certificate of language proficiency from the University of Sevilla, Spain.

Re: Greetings from Costa Rica

The costs are triple down here at the local hobby shop. I was thinking of waiting till I return to the states for a visit before investing in one. I am open for any suggestions that you may have.

There is a family that owns a really nice one and they use it every Sunday in La Sabana park. That is where I became interested.

The father must be an expert, because he does certain moves between trees with such ease that he always has a small crowd standing around watching him.

Very cool hobby.

Re: Greetings from Costa Rica

I would strongly reccomend that you get an RC simulator. You cant lose with one of these. I used two very basic ones when I was learning to fly RC planes...there were basic helicopters on these sims...I always had an interest in these so learnt to fly them like this.

The hardest thing is setting up a real model so it flys well...but if you are keen and wanting to learn then this is not too bad.

I dont know what to reccomend as far as helis go. Nitro fuel is expensive for what it is...but the 30 class nitro helis are a popular starter type...Century make some good helis..cheap prices and good performance...the Japanese make some good helis too...more pricey on parts though...they seem to be so.

Electric flight? I own a Trex 450 XL...not a bad heli...flys well enough...but there is the added expense of batterys and chargeing equipment etc.
A good starter heli is the Blade CX2...its for indoor use really..unless its really calm outside. I own a similar type of heli and its been very good to fly, and a lot of fun....the useful thing is the controls are basically the same layout as the more larger RC helis...so this coupled with a good Simulator will give you a good advantage if you want a larger machine.

Thanks for the useful information. I really appreciate it.

Always tough for a beginner to make the right decisions.
