Got the Mini Predator today!!!! yipeee!!!

I am quite impressed, the battery is charging at the moment...got to find some AA batterys for the radio.

Got to check the heli over as well....its plastic fantastic...the head linkages have some play dont they.

This is going to be fun.

Anyone else have one? whats your views on this heli?

Good luck!

Re: Its here!!! (MiniPred)

Hi there, finally finished work and got down to checking the Mini Pred out. I am quite impressed...the battery had been charging a while...about an hour and a half or so...so I checked the screws and other fasteners and put the boom struts in place...plugged the battery in and tried it out!

I was very impressed.....hovering is easy enough....control is not savage....I am going to like this heli....I am going to like it a lot

I might fit a spare rx I have...and then hook it up to the Futaba T7CHP/FF7...its going to give more flexibility on the pitch/power curves....I would like to keep the idle up in the same place too.

This is not a bad little heli for the price....I paid £200 for it...with postage. Its 'plastic fantastic' for sure but I do like the tail drive idea....the seperate tail motor thing just doesnt do it for me.

Yea! i'm glad that you like it. Does it have a brushless motor?
I know what you mean about tail motors, Ive gotten my fill of them with my Sabre. Never again, I love the belt drive on the 36, smooth, quiet, and dependable.

Good luck with your bird!

Re: Its here!!! (MiniPred)

Its does have a brushless motor, its not a bad deal really....though I dont like the charger for the Li Po...theres no LEDs to indicate anything, plus it charges via the main leads....so the proper charging/balance plug is not used...maybe I can get the proper Li Po charger? I will take a look sometime.

It flys well....for what it is....tried it outside but it was a bit breezy with some gusts.

Upgrades?

change the rx so I can use my Futaba FF7...maybe get a better battery. I am not going to spend too much on it though.

The rotor head needs some tweaking....to take a bit of the slop out....the blade tracking is all over the place at the moment.

Re: Its here!!! (MiniPred)

Rob hi,
Does it the head look like a 36's or is it compleatly different?
And does it have room for a 2100 lipo?

Neil

Re: Its here!!! (MiniPred)

Blade tracking is good now....the feathering shaft sort of teeters within the hub....but the tracking is consistent.

The charger will have to go....its useless....or near enough so.

I have a Twister bell 47 which has a much better charger than this peice of rubbish.

Otherwise its a nice deal....You can fit a 2100 battery...apparently.

I am going to order a charger and 2100 battery tonight.

I dont know the 36....I will have to check that out.

Re: Its here!!! (MiniPred)

Hi again,
You can't fit a 2100 lipo in a 36 without moving the canopie foward, although thats not difficult and results in better balance.
I believe that your Minipredator is similar but is made by a different company so I hpoe that the quality is better than the Walkeras.
