Getting very frustrated

Hi all JD again here. I'm getting very frustrated with this hummingbird. I just broke the tail motor trying to install a direct drive system. I have a question are the coaxial helis easier to learn to fly then this hummingbird I have? I'm to the point where I either want to trade it or sell it because no matter what I do I can't seem to get the 5n1 control system to work right it wants to wander all over then place and no matter what I do to the inputs on the controls I just can't control it. I don't want to give up on the hobby it's a lot of fun I just think there is a better heli for me to learn on.

any comments or suggestions are welcome

Thank you very much

JD

Re: Getting very frustrated

Hi JD,

In a word.. YES, the coaxial helis tend to be self stabilising. The 4 in 1 control unit isnt much better however and ALL helis want to wander all over the place . Unfortunately its difficult to say if there is a problem with yours.

Have you tried Radds school of flight for some pointers in how to learn to fly?

Good luck ... Azzy

Re: Getting very frustrated

hey Azzy,

thanks for the reply I'm trying everything I can think of to even get it to stop spinning and drifting, but ,but the controls are just not doing anything to correct the movement of the heli. I can hear and see the servos moving when I move either stick but it just doesn't seem to do anything other than to make it spin faster to the left. the tail motor won't do anything to correct when I give it left stick to the right. I dunno what to do lol

Re: Getting very frustrated

When you say it's spinning to the left, are you talking about the nose or the tail is going left. The rudder control on the radio, controls the nose of the copter, so if the tail is turning left, the nose is going right. You would then have to give it right rudder to stop the spin. Hope that helps some.

Re: Getting very frustrated

The tail spins left when I give it right rudder it stops the spin but the tail will not go to the right at all even with the trim pushed all the way right maybe the 5n1 sensitivity is off?

Thanks

Re: Getting very frustrated

I have a coaxial heli, and they are fun and easy to fly.
I'm flying a bell 47g by Dynam.

They are pretty cheap, and easy to maintain.
It might be worth getting one, just to get your confidence up.

Good luck,

Jordan

Re: Getting very frustrated

Thanks for all the suggestions and help guy's, I'm pretty sure that the the gain or the mix or possibly both are not set right. I'm not going to give up on it, but I am planning on buying a coaxial heli perhaps the Eflite CX2 so i can get used to the way a heli reacts in the air. I'm doing ok with the Realflight G2 lite simulator, I can hover with little or no movement of the heli in any direction , I can also do some very basic manuevers

thanks again please by all means keeps the suggestions and comments coming
I need all the help I can get
