Re: Rocket Launcher

In the UK its an offence to crash your model into a person or property...the penaltys are quite severe...something like a jail sentence and/or a hefty fine.

To launch something which could go wrong might just carry penaltys as well.

I hear what you say about the terror threat....but thats the world we live in now....quite sad really.

Re: Rocket Launcher

Sounds nice. Here in the Bay Area, if I flew anything larger than a micro-electric, I'd have an hour's drive to find enought room to fly it.
No time to do that, so unfortunately, no nitro's for me

Dang I miss the smell and the sound. There's nothing like barely controlled horsepower

Re: Rocket Launcher

I'm not worried about jail considering lawers would have to be insane to try me as an adult. And sorry for my ignorance, but what does AMA stand for? I thought it was just for heli's.....

Re: Rocket Launcher

AMA is the American modeler's association, and there are a few others like IMAA
International Model Aircraft Association. Not sure what they do other than make sure people are flying safely and not doing anything that they shouldn't be doing. but you can bet if anyone from either of these 2 groups sees you firing rockets from an r/c heli they will be on the phone to the authorities pretty quick if it is illegal in your state, and actually if anybody sees you doing it and thinks it's wrong will call the fire dept or the police just to make sure. i had that happen to me once when I was a kid i was shooting off bottle rockets under the supervision of my dad and one of the neighbors called the police and the fire dept. It wasen't illegal in colorado at that time and the police said just be careful and so did the fire dept. The police went to the neighbors house and told them not to call unless we started a fire, because it was not illegal. You just never know who is going to try to be a hero when you don't need one, but make sure you are very clear on your states fire work laws along with the firing of non fire work laws such as estes rockets and other types of rockets you never know what will bring the authorities out of the wood work

Re: Rocket Launcher

OK. I'll be sure to check this kind of stuff out. I'd rather not hurt anyone, but I'm sure I can work out an area that a P.O. will let me test this out. Maybe I could interest one of them into this stuff.... Thanks.

Re: Rocket Launcher

Launching a rocket at anything more than 20 deg. from vertical goes against all rules and regs in all 50 states. The BATFE has about ruined the hobby rocketry scene (hence my avatar) in the past 10 years and I'm sure would have something to say about a rocket equipped heli.
