Smile 2nd Heli

What would be a good 2nd heli to graduate to after I master my Hummingbird V.3? I bought an R/C heli magazine and a couple of the birds have caught my eye. A Compass Knight 50 and the Thunder Tiger Raptor 50 and the 30, I'm not sure if I want to get into nitro Heli's so I need some sugestions for electric ones too

Thanks

JD

I like the Venom 3D xl. It looks like a big 30 sixe bird but is electric.

Re: 2nd Heli

thanks I'll look into that all though it will probably be awhile before I can afford another heli. Awhile back a hobby shop owner gave me which seemed like a really good opinion, "If you can fly an electric heli you can fly just about anything, because they are lighter than any nitro heli due to having an electric motor in it as opposed to an engine"

Thanks again

JD

Re: 2nd Heli

My first heli was a nitro....it was a Nexus 30 ss with an MDS engine...a cheap engine that ran well enough in the Nexus but couldnt cope with my second heli...a Century Hawk.

You will like nitros....they will seem more stable to fly....certainly can lift more weight....like if you want to carry a camera.

The only drawbacks are:

parts are more expensive
you need more space to fly
potential for serious injuries if you do fly into someone or yourself

Nitro fuel can be expensive for what it is...but having said that you can fly a lot longer.....you can burn a few tanks of fuel if your radio and flightpack batterys are big enough in capacity.

If I could suggest a heli?

I would take a good look at Century Helicopters....they make a good range....the Falcon 50 looks to be a great heli....I almost bought one but went the gasser route instead....got myself a Predator which is a Century model.

Re: 2nd Heli

I think the Raptor is a pretty good deal.

I don't have any personal experience with these guys,

but I read a good report by somebody who bought one of theirs.

The only electric I have is a CX and I don't know much about the electrics. Lots of people like the T Rex though.

Re: 2nd Heli

Hi JD,

If you want a big electric there isnt much that can compete with the T-Rex 600 at the moment. If your looking at nitros, then another posibility woud be the Hirobo Sceadu evo (which I have 2 of )

Take care... Azzy
