Video Camera:D This is hard to beat.

OK,

I have to say that for me one of the things that I wanted to get into was sending a video camera up with my heli. I soon found out that it is very costly and you allso needed bigger heli's than I could afford to carry the payload. Dissapionted I was BUT,

I have the problem sorted and beleive it or not I found a solution and have used it for under £40 about $75 US.

I can tell you that the camera is all self contained and it can record for 5mins35 sec in high and 10+mins in low. The picture quality is better than I was expecting and if you remove the lens that covers the actual camera lens then your picture does improve. It only adds 23grams to the heli weight, Ok so you have to turn it on before you mount it on the heli/car/airplane. I have done all 3 and It has performed well.

Again for the money you wont beat it I don't think.
So here is the link to the site that sells them.
I am glad I took a chance on this one it is good enough.

Now if you do get one and I am going to buy a second. Let me know what you think.

By the way I hold mine on with velcro. Because it does not weight anything then it stays put well I have attached a pic of my T-rex XL that has flown lots with this unit. I does work, On the ground you will get some interference on the pic but when your up it is nice going.

Re: Video Camera:D This is hard to beat.

I have seen some onboard footage on YouTube that was taken from a TRex....looked awsome.

I got My Predator especially for camera work....as well as zooming about....must admit I have often thought I should have got a Trex instead....but then again the wind here can get strong which doesnt bother the Predator at all....in fact it thrives on wind.

There is a link to some footage that the camera took from some persons plank. you can find that on the Indoorflyer site via link.

The footage I have is nice But not as nice as it could have been I had to shrink it for display. I'll try and post it, It is way clearer than this in real time.

Re: Video Camera:D This is hard to beat.

Thanks DAZ, you just caused me to spend more money, lolol. I ordered three of those 5 in 1 cameras. One for my trex 450 and two for a couple pals who wanted them or thier trex 450's
Looked all over the internet and none to be found in Canada where I'm from or the U.S.
Ordered them from the UK, three weeks to ship

Re: Video Camera:D This is hard to beat.

Hi DKH

I am happy to have found more usefull advice to share. All I can say is I do have the unit myself and am about to order yet another. Because they are popular here too.
I am very happy with mine and I am sure that you will find yours great for all sorts.
Post a clip when you give it a go, Catch you later.

oh yeah one more thing,
When it comes to you there is a little lense that seals the unit, above the primary lens. I took mine off and got a slightly better picture, it has not changed the usefulness in any way and it is doing great. It does improve the picture quality if taking this outer lense off.
