trouble at high altitude

I have a raptor g2 bought it in november have not been able to get to fly more than 3 feet off the ground. i live at 7000 ft above sea level. I have installed a brushless motor and 11.1 v 1200 lipo batteries hoping this would make it fly with no luck? can any one help?

Re: trouble at high altitude

What exactly is it doing? Gonna have to be a little more specific, there are more than 30 moving parts on it at any given time..

Re: trouble at high altitude

It is well known that the higher up your altitude is the more you are going to require in terms of head speed and pitch. I would think that you would need to be around +7degrees at half stick to get lift at a guess. the fact that the air is thinner means that you need more pitch to get the required lift. the fact you use more pitch may also mean that you need a greater head speed to prevent the pitch bogging the motor out.
