Re: Picco z...value for money:)

I've never flown a dual rotor heli before, is it even similar to a single rotor heli? That one video of the guy flying it around his office was insane.

Re: Picco z...value for money:)

Hi all,
well i've not been on the forum for a while because of a job change and travelling around the UK (which means very little heli time ).

So after reading about how good these little piccoZ are I had to get one......

So after searching high and low, I found a PiccoZ in the middle of no where, inside a model shop which is ajoined to a petrol station, in Scotland.

While enquiring about the little wonders, he let slip that the importer to the UK had brought in 175,000 piccoz's (is that the plurral for more than one? Is it a bit like mice and mice's?). All have gone, and all stockists are shouting for more........

My advice , go hunt this little sucker down.........

As for flight experience required? I'm normally flying a FP Twister V2, I would trust anyone could fly them happily, and yes I suppose they do fly alittle like a co-axial heli, just remember that piccoz's (?) are only two channel (turning at the rear rotor, and throttle height), so once weighted at the nose forward flight is acheived, more weight more forward flight...

I also noticed that when they are fully charged, the spike of power makes them a little eratic on the trim at first but once the battery cell settles down (after about 30 secs to a minute) the trim becomes more affective.

Also has anyone achieved any modification yet?, likr the bead on the main shaft to stabalize, or open up and move the battery forward a little so no weight is required at the front end?

Ps. To Uneverno, I like your English teacher response to the "something a twelve year old would write"

A hunting I have gone. Found a site in Utah which allegedly has them, so should have mine early next week. Have heard about the nose weight thing, so as soon as I have it, I'll letcha know.
I have a feeling that I'll be getting more than one eventually anyway, so mod's will take place without question
Besides, must to torment the cat

P.S. I hate when my job interferes with my hobbies

Re: Picco z...value for money:)

The heli isn't like other 'twin rotor' models, there's a single tiny motor. I've played with the battery position and the ballast and it is now stable, throttling up creates forward flight smoothly. As for the English lesson - l read and post from my phone and l hope l try to use the correct words. I have read and even moderated several forums, covering varied subjects, since '97 and 'text speak' has become a constant annoyance. On ebay, message forums and text messages why can't people use "your" "you're" "there" "their" "they're" correctly? Oh and when did you become u, know become no, anyone become ne1 and probably become prolly?
If the avatar (another made up name) refers to The Scream and it's a perceived view from the cockpit, which can't be confirmed, then surely the user's name should be "Oneshallneverknow"

Very nice! I like it - tastes of Nietzsche.
Do please note that I don't use "netspeak" in my posts, although I will occaisionally b**tardize the language from time to time. Some netspeak could legitimately be construed as a matter of efficiency, but most is a matter of laziness or just plain ignorance...
You are quite correct - words mean things - and they should be spelled correctly as well, as far as I'm concerned. (God, or at least Microsoft, invented spellcheck for a reason.) Grammar and syntax on the other hand - that'll be a matter for linguistic historians in about 15 minutes at the pace things are changing these days.
As for the handle - eh - I do live in the Silicon Valley. Cut me a little slack

I love a sprited debate. No lesson was intended, just the ramblings of an old, addled mind. Thanks for not taking offence.

Re: Picco z...value for money:)

I have a fairly recent Model Helicopter World where both the piccoz and the gyrotor are featured....very good reviews and with the stocks being sold out so quickly the designer is going to reap rewards....I am very impressed by His Manufacturers dedication in working so hard to get things right.

I really enjoy reading about success storys like this...in all areas of research and development in all aspects of life.

The designers mission was to introduce rc helis at an affordable price to the masses.....I reckon this is happening and if a percentage of firsttimers take to the hobby and get other, larger, helis then this has got to be a big step forwards for rc heli flying as a whole.

Darn it!!! I want a squadron of these little crittas

Rob

best thing is I talked to local Hobby shop and they are going to try and get them stocked and order them. And hopefully keep the spare parts. I'm gonna order it from Hobbytron.com. Because I know it will take him some time to get it in stock. Of all the vids i've seen on it. I know it will be great fun. Let us know how it goes uneverno.

That helps me not at all - the $ 2k it'll cost me to drive to NC hardly seems worth it

On Friday their site said my order had shipped. Today it says it's "processing."
I just talked to them, and unless the operator was lying to me, my order will ship tomorrow. He said they do have them in stock, but they've been so overloaded with orders that it's slowing down their processing time. (If they truly do have them in stock, I can believe that. If they don't, well, I'll post hehehe)

We'll see.
