Re: Picco z...value for money:)

Order has shipped.

Here's where I got it if anyone's having trouble finding one:

http://www.hobbytron.com/

$ 40 plus shipping

Why is it these things always come up on a Friday, so I can't get it 'til after the weekend

Can't wait

I have 2 of those helis and they're great fun. I had to wait 2 weeks for the local shop to get the second one for me and now they don't expect to get anymore until the New Year!

The one in the videos is the V1, they've been in the UK since the summer. The V2 has now become available in some shops before the 'official' launch in 2007 - l have both. They have 3 IR bands to choose from and none conflict with the TV remote.

Is there much difference between the two? I can imagine they are selling like hotcakes with the pre christmas shopping spree. I might bring a few down myself to flog....they just look like a lot of ´bang for buck´

You are an evil man Mr. Hawk...
but, for 40 bucks you can't really go wrong - or can you?? I can see myself ending up with 3 , oh and gonna have to get one for the kid for Christmas 'cuz he has a perfect apartment (flat) for this - huge loft with vaulted ceilings.

As for the cat, I could land on one of mine and he'd ignore it. The other - when I'm not using the heli I'll have to hide it or she'll eat it.

Re: Picco z...value for money:)

The V2 is more stable and is easier to fly with the ballast option. At $60 and the current exchange rate they are a LOT cheaper over the 'pond' than here. I fly them around the loumge and they don't suffer "ceiling ****" like my Twister CP scares me with! Oh and 'uneverno' - change your username so that it makes sense in English please, it looks like something a 12 year old would send in a text message!

WAY off topic, but for the sake of amusement, I'll respond.

The short answer is: No - I'll not change my username. (not my syntax - yours)

Long answer is: That's the point. Do you recognize the avatar? The picture was recently found, after having been stolen a year or two ago, and was just recently returned to the Norwegian museum to which it belonged. The title approximates the experience of flying an RC helicopter.

I could change to something German, Dutch, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, or perhaps Cyrillic (Russian script) if you'd prefer. I'm a translator by trade. However, I rather like it as it is. While a stickler for grammar and spelling in my own posts, it's not my place to hold others to that. The language is evolving for good or bad. Chaucer would roll in his grave, as would Sir William, but it's all about word games.

The word "username" in and of itself is not proper English. It's a subjective agglutination, the noun form of which we no longer use in English. That's a remnant from the Germanic side of our linguistic history. (Meaning pre- the year 1066 and that whole battle of Hastings thing when William came in and introduced we Germanic commoners to the royal beauties of - how many extraneous vowels do we need? - French.) That (among other reasons) is why English spelling is so screwed up. All the words ending in the "ough" suffix are Germanic, however. How many ways are there to pronounce that thing? Through, thorough, rough, dough...

Shall I, perhaps, also use more familiar terminology such as "stuffed," "spanner," "fag," ."lift," "flat," "bonnet," or "cogs?"

No offence meant. It is what it is - and British English is different than American English. So be it.

As you say across the pond - cheers
