Re: buying first R/C heli

I dont know if they sell these in the USA but I own a Twister Bell 47....its an indoor heli with twin rotors...one above the other.

It comes with its own radio, battery and charger.....its controls are the same as a proper rc heli....I paid £100:00 sterling.....you can get slightly better ones for a little more.

I would suggest the Blade CX or the new Blade CX2. They have duel rotors which makes the heli more stable then traditional helis. They also have a cool web-site,,,, www.e-fliterc.com. Good luck

Re: buying first R/C heli

Hey David,
Blade owners seem to be very happy with their machines. Coaxial is very stable, but my understanding is they're not so much in fast forward flight. (I have no personnal experience with this, just what I've read on-line)
If you're considering single rotor, I'm very happy with my Hummingbird V4. Complete kit w/ training gear and TX batteries is $189. For another $25 or so, they offer a serial I/F for your computer with FMS flight sim.

You can check it out here:

Twister is available in the States, but I think it goes by a different name here. Not sure what though. Also, from what I've read (again, no personnal experience) I'd avoid Walkera due to shoddy electrics.

Have fun - let us know what you get

Regs,
Emil

the twister co axial is the same as the blade cx....I am impressed by my little heli....real value for money....I bought it purely for messing around indoors at work.....its been a lot of fun.

Re: buying first R/C heli

Hiya David,
Imma newb so can't really tell you anything except..do all the research you can, as much as possible and then some more, lol.
I have the BCX, very nice, user friendly, nothing wrong with it at all.
That being said,... deep down inside I wish I had gotten a single rotor heli, but..that is just me and for various reasons. I did not do enough research, if any, when I was bitten by the heli bug, hence the Walkera 36 I have crammed under my workbench, trying to forget I have it, lmao. The BCX is worth every cent, just my own personal experiences that makes me think that I shuuda done differently.
hope it works out for ya.
Be good and have fun,

Blue
