Hi! I'm paso and I'm from Italy. I entered this forum because I think at last someone here will be able to help me... I'm trying to get some informations about the ch-47 chinook: can anyone suggest me some good site about it, or just answer this question: Do both rotors have cyclic pitch control? i.e. do they tilt aft/fwd like on every common single-rotor heli? you see there's so little clearance between the tip of the rear rotor's blades and the top of the cabin... what a pity to see a "banana" (that's the italian nick for the chinook) being torn by its own rotor... Thanks in advance for your help! Bye Paso

Yes, there is cyclic pitch control on both rotors. They operate just like a normal single main rotor heli, they just spin in opposite directions. There is actually quite a bit of clearance once the rotors are up to speed.

Who knows...) yeah I'm completely mad that's sure. But sooner or later (most likely veeery later) I'll manage to. Hehe. see you soon paso |

Hirobo makes a chinook model. Check out this page: http://model.hirobo.co.jp/products-e.html It's an awsome site to behold.

thanx again I've found another great site... http://www.modellflug-regensburg.de/chinook.html[/url] have a look... That's a huge, wonderful, chopper... I can't believe it... hey guys listen, maybe this is my lucky day: does anybody know the genius who built that masterpiece? Mr. Chinook, are YOU reading this message? Do you have any plan, drawing, blueprint, whatever you want that could help machining out another nice ch47? I know that hirobo makes a fine model of this copter but... you see... that's completely different a pleasure to build sth than just to buy it all set up... ![]() Now, I've asked around about swashplate and sidewards/aft-fwd movements on the chinook.... that's the funniest: "tilting rotor? you're real mad, man, arent you? no no no you would crash blades into fuselage... and you dont need to tilt, too" don't I? I replied"of course you dont. why to make it tandem otherwise? you see, rotor are inclined sideway to go left or right, but not to move ahead or backwards. to go ahead you just decrease collective pitch on front rotor, so the whole craft will incline and the back rotor, inclined above the longitudinal axis will push the heli where you want. you got it?" ![]() Man, I will pay to see someone who can steer a chinook with such controls... PS have alook at the stallion, too, in the site linked above... See ya paso
