Battery VS Gas helicopters

I say battery because it's cheaper to use, and it is easier to get electricity than gas.

(But I'm a newbie, so I don't really know what I'm talking about = ) )

Gas gives more enjoyment! Batteries cost $$$$ and charging times are so long compared to the flight time.

I'm in the middle of this decision right now.

In the past, battery helicopters did have very short flight times.

However, battery and motor technology now seems to be advancing to acceptable levels. We're hearing of helicopters that will:
- Do loops, pirouettes, inverted, stall turns
- Fly for more than 20 minutes

I'm following this with interest on other forums because I can't get to a suitable place to fly my Hirobo Shuttle (gas heli) and cannot fly it outside my apartment, whereas I can do this with my electric (as long as I just stick to hovering).

i started some yrs ago with a shuttle
between crash parts and the shuttle it got too costly

i came back to helis after 6 yrs and got an ikarus picco electric
they have really made some advances in li-poly batteries
im running a brushless setup on a piccolo fun and getting 20+ minute flights
since xmas ive definitely got HELI FEVER
i have 4 picco's now and with all the mods
ive just reached the amount of $$$ i spent on my shuttle crashes and never got to hover
i learned to fly in the kitchen last winter with the picco Well i can hover fly the tail and working on my side ins

keep it in the air

Somewhere I saw a video of an electric heli flying for 30 minuites. Now this was hard 3d flying. I don't know when the vid clip was orposted, but after it said that they were a new type of battery and as yet not for sale. When I have time I will try to find it, but at the mo I have bigger problems....new mobo/ reformat...OMG
