Gyros and Tail servos

Hello all. Need to get response as to the relationship between the gyro and tail servo. Question is - will a somewhat slow tail rudder servo affect the performance of a good gyro? I have a futaba 401 gyro with a DS821 tail servo, and I am wondering if the servo is affecting the performance of the gyro.

Basically, should I have a faster tail servo like the futaba S9254?

Thank you all........

Re: Gyros and Tail servos

It depends on what you are demanding out of your heli but,The answer is yes! A fast, digital tail servo will make any gyro work better and with the 401 it will be great!

Smile Re: Gyros and Tail servos

Thank you Huey man.

I am the same guy with the Walkera 60. I have my Raptor 30 flying pretty decent, and I think my gyro and radio settings are as good as I am going to get them. The heli is hovering pretty stable and very little drifting. The only wag I have is a little jerk in the tail when giving the heli quick throttle into forward flight. It only makes sense that my tail servo is causing the problem.

I am not having any fun with the Walkera currently due to the radio and gyro, but still trying to work it out. I'm doing alot of blade bashing but nothing to extensive in repairs. I definitely find the nitros and bigger helis much easier.

I'll let you know on that bird when and if I figure it out.

I'm dying to get another servo for the Raptor to see if that gets me what I want.

Thanks so much for the reply. Keep'em flying or die trying..................
