Esky EK2-0704 gyro light? I have a Honey bee king 2 with the stock EK2-0407 gyro. When i plug the battery in the gyro flashes rapidly as its supposed to, but after a few seconds the light starts flashing slowly and the gyro is not working.... what does that mean? is my gyro broken? time for a headlock gyro already?

Re: Esky EK2-0704 gyro light? Make sure that the radio is on FIRST, this could be the problem? very important point with electric helis...you run the risk of the ESC doing its own thing otherwise. Also make sure the gyro isnt moved when you connect the power...not easy I know...the rapid flashes mean its getting its bearings...its a heading hold gyro anyway isnt it? Even the cheap gyros perform way better than the older versions. Rob

Re: Esky EK2-0704 gyro light? Another point...the radio has a switch for the gyro? make sure its in the heading hold position before connecting the helis battery up.

Re: Esky EK2-0704 gyro light? I have the stock gyro that comes with the Honey Bee King 2, and it is not a head holding gyro. I do know that the transmitter has to be powered on first. When I plug in the Li Po the gyro begins its initialization as normal with the red light fluttering rapidly, the gyro is supposed to then complete the initialization and the light is supposed to stay on meaning ready to fly.... HOWEVER, after the rapid flutter of the red light for a few seconds the red light blinks slowly on off on off.... there is also no response from the tail servo when rotated left and right. when i move the stick on the transmitter the tail servo is working but i am not getting any compensation from the gyro and the light blinks slowly instead of staying light........ is my gyro broken?

Re: Esky EK2-0704 gyro light? Is the throttle all the way down and trims centered? Gyro won't set if these are off.

Re: Esky EK2-0704 gyro light? Another thing it could be is the radio. if its a cheap radio that came with the heli then I could be barking up the wrong tree. However, if the radio is a more expensive one then the gyro mode within the program might be in the wrong setting. I say this because I had this experience a while back, basically I had been messing with the radio and a sim...I had switched gyro modes from 'GY' to 'normal'...the normal being for the older type gyro...so the gyro was there but couldnt work...I still had left and right control overall...but the gyro couldnt compensate. I flew the heli quite well but on hovering it was very unpredictable...and ended up on its side with a set of new carbon blades getting totalled in the process ![]() Rob
