Trex 450 SE v2 - Telebee Gyro (need help)

Does anyone have any recommendations as to the gyro settings with a dx7 and the telebee gyro? I can not get this thing right to save my life. With heading hold on I have to keep left in it to keep it straight. If I pull heading hold off it wants to spin I know I may need to change somethings on the chopper itself but want to make sure I am using good settings before I go changing the heli.

I researched the heck out of the telebee manuals and I am using what they recommend, but they are not all that straight forward and some calculated guesses were needed.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like:

Your tail rotor pitch is not set properly.

To set this up you must understand this...when a heli is on the grond with rotor spinning...there is 'torque' ie the rotor and heli want to spin opposite ways...the tail rotor has to have some pitch to counter this...ON THE GROUND....so the servo arm should be 90 degrees to the servo body....and the tail pitch will be say 5 degrees or so....the TRAILING EDGES of the blades should point RIGHT (this is with you behind the heli looking forwards) you will need to sort this out mechanically.

Once adjustment is made:

make sure the gyro is in heading hold first...then switch to rate...so heading hold OFF.

Go hover...and watch the tail....if the tail goes left or right on its own...land and MECHANICALLY adjust the linkage....so if the tail goes left you need to reduce the nuetral pitch...hover and test...you want it so the heli holds its tail straight.

If its breezy: make sure the heli hovers pointing into the breeze...watch the tail...if it stays still then the adjustment is good.

A badly set tail in heading hold mode will not hold...thats why the nuetral point has to be spot on.

Its a good idea to use some kind of training base while making gyro adjustments...or any kind of test flight...I use a hoop and sticks...fastened to the skids its ideal.

i wud also try gettin a better gyro the telebee came wiv my trex 450 v2 and i cudnt work it out, i took it to sumone whos was a bit experianced and he cudnt sus it out ive got gy401 on now and its easier to set up and it works fine hope this helps gudluck
