Re: Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi wich,

Check that your swash is level. The swashplate is the round plate where the rotating linkages of the rotor attach to the static linkages of the controls. The way to check this is to power up your heli but keep the throttle at minimum. Then centre the trims on the right stick and turn the the blades by hand until they are at right angles to the tailboom. Then look at the swash from the rear of the heli... It should be parallel with the blades. If it is, then turn the blades by hand until they are in line with the tailboom. Then look at the swash from the side of the heli.. Again it should be parallel with the blades. If it isnt parallel in either direction then you need to make it parallel. There are 2 ways to do this. To try it, move the trim lever on your transmitter so that the swash is level (left/right trim tilts the swash left/right looking from the rear).. (up/down trim tilts the swash forward/back looking from the side). If you get it level try flying the heli and seeing if its solved the problem. If you cant level the swash by trimming, then you need to start adjusting the control linkages until you achieve a level.

Post back if you need more information.

I was in Playa Dora for 2 weeks. It was a nice place.. Dont know how close that is to santa domingo but it was close to Puerto Plata lol.

Take care... Azzy

Re: Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi wich.

Okay if it swash is level, then it might be natural.

Blade alignment wont cause the heli to veer in any direction, it causes the heli to vibrate or not fly lol.

Can you get a straight lift off if you put in right aileron to compensate for the drift?. If you do and your not holding on right then its natural.

Take care.. Azzy

Re: Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi again,

I think you mean sliding the tail servo up or down the tailboom to adjust the pitch. All helicopters need a certain ammount of static pitch in order to counteract the normal torque of the mainblades and stop the machine instantly pirouetting as soon as it gets airborne. It is a good way to adjust the tail blade pitch by moving the servo slightly up or down the tailboom to put this static pitch in, however you will need to be REALLY careful when you do it because if you get it wrong you can make it worse.

The way I do this is to neutralise the rudder trim and turn off the gyro heading hold. Then hover the model. Find out what direction of rudder you need to put in to hold the tail still. Make a mental note of how much stick you used. Land then reapply the stick deflection you put in while watching the servo. If the servo horn is angled TOWARDS the tail then you need move the servo back slightly towards the tail. If the horn is angled AWAY from the tail, you need to move the servo forward slightly to the body. Once youve adjusted it. Start again and keep repeating this until you dont need any rudder to lift off. The static pitch is now set.

The difficulty with this is that its possible to crash your machine whilst setting the thing up.

Hope this helps... Azzy
