| what went wrong? i recently bought an electric spyhawk helicopter and i can't get it off the ground,it has a 380 type motor, but the instruction manual i got with it was tottaly useless! it doesn't seem to be creating enough lift to carry it's own weight, the blades are not adjustable, but i don't have a clue what to do with the stabilizers,i set them horizontal and still not enough lift i tilted them and the same thing, the chopper only just skims across the ground and shakes like hell.then my dad got hold of it and tried to take it off the table and broke the blades, hadn't even had it for for 4 hours and it was stuffed,so now i have to wait for another set of blades from hongkong,if theres anyone that knows what i'v done wrong please tell me. |

| hello scooter i have a micro ikarus piccolo electric and basicly had the same problem to start Check and recheck everything make sure there is no binding that all gears spin freely Yes the stabilizers should be horizontal also one thing that happens a lot with the ikarus heli's is that the pinion on the motor gets hot and starts slipping if its plastic pull it off put a drop of CA on it and press back on Don't get any in the motor !!!! do you just have a canopy or do you have a full body try it without the canopy i didn't get more than a 2 minute hover untill i went Li-poly batteries and brushless motor look and search here might find an answer http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/ubbth...reads.php?Cat= not your heli but the problems are much the same good luck keep it in the air Turco

| I know that feeling when it refuses to fly.. that happened to me when I got my heli.. the real problems could be.. you mounted the blades upside down... or the batteries arent charged.. chances are the batteries arent charges.. and believe it or not sometime the shiny part of the blads has to be pointed down. remember that the blades rotate CLOCKWISE... other than that there should be no problem other than the fact that you might just be at such a high elevation that you wont be able to fly because the air is so thin. also think about getting a new motor. always helps there. |
