raptor g2/ repairs

Hello everyone! I'm new to the world of rc helicopters. I know I should have started out with a basic copter to learn with but instead went with the raptor 2 heli from Exceed. I like challenging tasks but made an critical error while learning the basic moves and hovering procedures. While hovering about 3 ft I was trying to adjust the trim but accidently bumped the directional lever and sent the raptor into a small tree . Now I'm looking into purchasing replacement parts from xheli.com. I cant find anything on repair manuals or if the new parts come with any instructions for the raptor2. If anyone has any information please let me know and I'm open to learning tips too.... thanks magnum

Re: raptor g2/ repairs

Hi Magnum,

Welcome

This is one of the biggest downsides of a ready to fly heli you dont get to build the machine.
The heli should have come with some kind of instruction manual that details what goes where. As you strip the broken parts off the heli pay special attention to what order the washers and bearings come out. When you put the heli back together, the washers and bearings must go back in the same order otherwise you'll get problems when you try to fly again. My recommendation to you would be to take the model to a your local heli shop and have them repair it and set it up for you again.

As far as learning tips goes. My biggest one would be get a sim and learn on that. (its cheaper as youve just found out) My next suggestion would be to learn it from the ground up. Ie start by skidding the model about on the floor. Take a look at Radds school... http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html which is a good self teach help.

Good luck... Azzy

Hi, I would add to what has already being said, you cane down load a manual from google type in raptor v2 manual and click on the listing with a down load note. save it and you can go back to it. I got my first raptor 30 second hand and i printed off the whole thing. now its in the shed with all the others.

Re: raptor g2 Set-up Battery Clearance

I just bought a raptor G2 special edition (with the brushless motor and lipo battery).

The manual is very poor, and doesn't give diagrams as to where exactly the battery should be installed. I think I figured it out, but when the battery is placed in the only logical spot it leaves very, very little clearance between it and the brushless motor (maybe 5 millimeters), when the canopy is attached.

Is this right? Any other solution.
