| Governor on Shuttle Plus 30 (advice, please) Hello Friends, I have a Hirobo Shuttle with OS .32, flying smooth and predictable, but I have a question, "If I install a futaba governor, the heli will fly better?" I'm not an expert, but fly quite well. Please I'll waiting your opinions.. TIA Claudio |

| Re: Governor on Shuttle Plus 30 (advice, please) Hola Amigo!!! I was in Chile the last two weeks....I was in Punta Arenas and then went into Argentina to Ushuaia....very nice country. I almost went to Santiago but decided I would go later...maybe early next year. I was using an OS 32 in my Hawk....its a good engine. I am not sure about the governor....I have never used one but the idea of them is to provide a constant rotor RPM so the heli will fly better to some degree......the trouble is is that a governor can hide engine tuning problems.....if the engine is tuned well then the governor can do its job....its up to you if you want to fit this device. Personally I would get used to the heli....and make sure the engine is tuned well....then as you get into more skills and do tricks then the governor might be a good idea. Rob |

| Re: Governor on Shuttle Plus 30 (advice, please) Thank you Hawkman, sorry for the delay, but I have a lot of work and my heli was sleeping in my garage. Today I planned to retry the hobby and was programed to next sunday a flight day, I hope all in good condition. I agree with you 100%, a governor is for the future, when, I hope, my flight will much more stable. Thanks a lot, Rob, and if you visit Santiago, please tell me ! ![]() |

| Re: Governor on Shuttle Plus 30 (advice, please) wow I didn't know that there was any need for a govenor on a .30 sized heli. I mean I know there is power to do some 3d on a 30 size heli, but wasn't aware that a govenor would help out that much on that size. I have read that only thing you need on a .30 is a good throttle curve. Then once you get pretty good at flyin, move up to something with better power to weight ratio. Like a .50 ![]() I may be TOTALLY wrong. But what else is new ![]() Jeff

| Re: Governor on Shuttle Plus 30 (advice, please) A govenor will help with any helicopter as long as you can manage your pitch control with the use of one. On a thirty it is even more usefull than you may think this is due to the lack of power that comes from a 32 engine. I have flown 30 size models with a govenor and it does make a noticable difference to the heli's ability to maintain a good rotor speed. But like any heli if you cannot manage your pitch control through manouvers properly then you can still bog the engine down due to its lack of grunt. It is for this reason that one would not normaly introduce a govenor until they moved on to the 50 size heli up. I personaly think it is much better to learn throttle and pitch control on a 30 size by yourself instead of having the ability to hear when your overloading the pitch taken away. If a govenor is controling the throttle response to compensate for overloading the pitch. This could lead you to learn poor throttle and pitch management. If you are confident of your pitch control then there should be no problem with useing one and you should have a blast/great time with it. It will help you throw the heli round but just remember it has not got a great amount of power and you will have to manage the pitch to keep your head speed up even with the govenour batting your corner.
