Flapper setup/inspection

I am new to RC heli, thanks to ebay. I have a concept 30 se. It has a few problems that I need to correct and make sure its flight worthy. One of them is that the flapper arm has about .75" of movement (slop) before the rods touch the rubber bushing. I am not sure if this is OK. Also the tail blades have/can move in the plane 90deg to rotation, not pitch but move slightly from port to starbord. Any help would be great

tail blades

Regarding the flapper, I cannot help you there but besides that, it is perfectly normal that your tail blades can move from side to side (just like your rotor blades). Once the heli is running, both set of blades will adjust to their normal position due to centrifugal force, so don't worry about that...just be careful that the blades (both sets) aren't too loose or too tight...something in between will do. I hope this answers part of your question.

Thanks for your responce. I'm not sure we are compairing apples to appels. I am not talking about movement in the direction of rotation. I AM talking (asking) about movement 90deg from that. Not pitch movement or rotational movement, but movement from the base or root, side to side (port to starboard or visa versa). I took the tail rotor assembly apart today and saw nothing amiss, I did try to tighten the lock nut that secures the shaft bearings but only one very slight movement of the nut and the bearing was bound........It was adjusted correctly in the first place. The bearings look fine , with little play and the case looks fine!??. It just dosent seem like you should get play in that direction. Thanks for the responce.

Well, my mistake....I read your problem again and checked my heli and there is no movement as you mention it...I mean you can jiggle it a little but this is normal....maybe what you should try (and I'll ask around also) is to use 1 or 2 rubber washers which won't give you any vibrations and won't unbalance everything since they're almost weightless but it will help you shorten or eliminate the space between blade and hub....try that and before flight, tie you're heli up and check for any problems at half and full throttle. I hope that works.....
