Shuttle plus radio set up Help!! I bought a sh heli set up by an expert and never flown. Also got the sim but chopper drifts left and backwards on neutral sticks/Cyclic. realy difficult to hover as it drifts away from you. got confident enough to try real chopper and that does it too. The sim in the shop is a heck of a lot easier to hover ,easy as pie with the same set up. The tx comntrols are the same on mine as the shop and I have to have my controls biased well off centre to operate at all. Any suggestions? Mark

hi mark welcome abord they do drift helis are not verry stable the thing here you can do is (i hope you have training gear on)use the trims to get it to drift as little as possible then when you land reajust the pushrods so the swashplate is the same as when you landed BUT WITH THE TRIMS BACK AT CENTRE.youre swashplate might not be perfecly level but the heli will hover nicely. let me know how it goes steff

Hi Steff, Thanks for the reply, I forget to mention that I am using a sanwa rd6500? radio set up, My thoughts were that perhaps there was a programming set up incorect in the radio rather than anything amiss in the chopper. Being a complete nubie I am hessitant to go messing about with the chopper mechanical settings yet, since the chopper was apparently built, set up and test flown by an expert. The chopper sat in a box for a year before I got it and everything was stone dead when I got it, maybe some programme settings need to be restored in the radio? to get it to balance correctly. My first attempts on the sim and the chopper have the bias set about 75% of the way across the sliding scale on both ele. and aileron which strikes me as far too far off kilter for normal operation later. rgds Mark
