composite or wood? Curious to know who likes which kinds of blades and why. I've used both an prefer composite but they're much more expensive. I've used composite on both my main rotor and tail rotor. They're more responsive/firm feeling than the moncote covered wood ones. Because of expense I fly with the wood main and plastic tail rotors now. Last edited by jhp : 04-21-2003 at 10:55 AM.

On that Kyosho Concept EP I dug out last week, I was flying in my living room (just a hover to see if it worked! Not circuits or anything :-) My living room's so small you have to go outside to change your mind). Anyway, I caught the settee and it buckled both blades (crease in both blades near the centre). I've been advised to not get the stock replacement (stock number EH-15) which are the foam filled ones. Why not? I read somewhere that they're the best for beginners because if I whack anything, they don't usually bend the main mast too - and as this is just for hovering outside my apartment then cheapies are OK for me.

Yeah, electric heli. After I bought and built my Shuttle: when I came to the UK I went into a pawn shop and saw this heli on the wall. I had more money than sense so bought it (more because I wanted to tinker with it). Anyway, after bunny hopping a couple of times (I never charged the batteries up enough to do anything more) and because I had to move back to Germany, it got boxed up. That was at the start of 2000. Last weekend I took it out of its box :-P Anyway, figured out how to really charge the batteries, checked the thing over, and tried it out. Seemed fine (before I whacked the settee! But even now it still flies kinda!!) In the last week (posting some pics on RunRyder) I've learned it's called a Kyosho Concept EP. Anyway, I need a couple of new blades and a flybar. I'm fedup of not being able to get to a field to fly the Shuttle, so I'm going to fly this thing outside our apartment (something I could never do with the Shuttle! Gee, the neighbours would gut me...)

Never had problems with neighbors- even after I air lifted water from my pool to their patio with them on it.... Did a demo this past weekend at the in-laws and flew if some very confined area, maybe 20 foot square. Narrow area for a gasser. BTW- what is a settee? I know a good bit of british/english jargon but that one eludes me!

I don't know the american word. A settee is a 2-seater or 3-seater (or more!) chair.
