Post Blade tip speed, and force at the root

There's an excellent thread I've been following over on RunRyder where someone asked,

"What's the tip speed of a blade?"

and later asks

"What's the force being pulled at the root of the blade?"

The article has an excellent link to a physics page explaining the formulae complete with nice clear diagrams, and there's also a form where you can enter your own numbers and get some answers.

It all helps with safety if you understand what a dangerous beast you're playing with :-)
