| RC helicopter Blades So which blades are the best for what? |

| The specs state that the main rotor is 600mm, my question is if I break a blade in a crash what can I replace them with, will any 600mm blade work? If so what brand, what makes one better than other? |

| Re: Walkera 22E Blades the length is important...too long or too short will change the way the heli handles....ok if you know what you are doing. The length is measured from the bolt **** to the blade tip.....maybe you know that anyway. As for makes of blade.....I would think they are all pretty good...carbons are usually ready balanced....just bolt on, check the pitch settings, track in and go fly. Be very very careful of some traders though, there is at least one which is very dangerous...the merchandise is unsafe with blades that this Rogue has sold , actually falling apart......in mid air. | Can I fly 700 or 680 or other blades over 600mm on my new Trex 600. I'd like to slow down the response even more. Any other ways to slow things down? |

| Re: Main Blades You can slow the response mechanically....just move the control balls on the servos in a hole... Another way is to use 'Expo' but I have never done this...so I wont advise as such...what this does is either soften or speed up the response around center stick...makes the heli less twitchy. You can add weight to the flybar assy but I would be careful about that. Blade pitch? ok get your radio and heli switched ON...but make sure the motor is disconnected if its electric...do this first. place the gauge on a blade...either blade doesnt matter. make sure the flybar is 90 degrees to the mainshaft/mast...I use a CD cover as my 90 degree 'sight' make sure the flybar stays put...use a stick or something...fasten it to the boom. Ok take a sight along the gauge...line it up with the flybar...and read the figure...the guage can be near the blade tip if you want. mid stick should give you your hover point...about +5 +6 degrees...somewhere around there...check the book that came with the heli. go to low stick...and line the guage up with the flybar...you might have a minus figure here...depends on what setup you have. go to max pitch...readjust the gauge and read the figure...+10 degrees? that should be ok...you wont use it that much. The flybar is the crucial point in reading the guage...the rotor blades are influenced by this Bar...as it usually nice and level...in the hover...the flybar does the hard work of stability AND directional control. To get the pitch range you want check the book...and use the guage to verify the readings you should have. Rob |
