Charging 600 mah battery

Hi,My JR 600mah transmitter battery has gone flat(warning bleep on TX).
How long should i charge it for using a 60ma charger.
I have just replaced this battery with one with three times the a.h.for half the price of the original.I only had to solder a different connector into the back of the T.X.
But i was going to use the 600mah for when i use my flight sim.My thoughts are about ten hours charge.
Any advise would be appreciated,Thanks,Brian.

I would have to agree with you about 10 hours is good but If it were me I would give it 13hrs if it where a nicad. but 10 hrs is right for the size of charger you state.

Thanks for the reply.Ill give it a good charge.
Yesterday I had forgot to charge my glow stick thingy,so that was a waist of a day.
I must get into the habit of putting everything on charge the night before.
Thanks again,Brian.

Charging your batteries

Theoretically you will attain full charge after 10 hours for a 600mAh battery at 60mA charging current. But don't forget to remove the memory effect of your batteries every 4 weeks.

Hi,Thanks for your input.
I have read about the memory thing on battery's.
What would you say was the best way to discharge them.
Would it be by leaving them on.Or by attatching a 12v bulb and leaving it to go flat.
I have also read that it is unwise to compleatly flatten your battery.
Your views please.

The best way to cycle your batteries is to have a battery charger and discharger. then you can cycle them automaticaly and not worry about it. The 12v bulb idea I would not do having tried this and damaging my battery pack.
You could leave the item switched on and run the batteries down. But the charger/discharger is a good investment. There are plenty on the market shop around
