Esky EK2-0851 charger

Hi all. I recently purchased the Esky Belt CP and it came with a 1800mAh li-po battery and the above charger. It seems to take bet 4-6 hours to charge. Does anyone have an understanding of the charging lights? When do I know that the battery is TOTALLY charged?

Thanks

Re: Esky EK2-0851 charger

The red light means the mains or big battery is on...big battery being a 12 volt car battery...this charger usually comes with mains and battery leads.

I have an 1800 mah lipo which takes about 2 hrs or so to charge....I charge a 2200mah lipo with it as well...this takes about the same time.

When the green light comes on this means the LiPo is charging....when you plug the LiPo in the red light should be on...provided the mains is on...after a second or so the green light should come on....which means the charger recognises its got a LiPo to charge up....once the charge is complete the green light should go out....and the red light stays on.

4to 6 hrs is a long time....are you using mains voltage or a car battery? make sure that when you fly the heli DO NOT fly beyond the LiPo's capability....I fly a Trex 450...for which I select 6 mins on the radio timer...I might go to 7 mins...but then land and switch off...the pack is lukewarm...once cooled I recharge.

Over discharged LiPo batterys can get nasty...read the instructions carefully...they are great batterys but very unforgiving if handled badly.

If over discharged this might be the reason its taking so long to recharge?

I am going to get a better charger...the Esky one is ok...better than some I have seen. I decent charger will charge is less time.

Rob
